This is a very deceptive film, people often assume its a boring war film. That was the answer I used to get anyway "Why do I want to watch a war film?" All of the songs are authentic to the period and combined with the costumes, hairstyles, buildings and mannerisms of the show the feeling that you are in the 1970's is always prominent (and I wasn't even born then). Advantages: Well cast, moving story
Disadvantages: May be too hard going and morbid for some

This film is aheart wrenching potrayal of a woman on the edge, with beautifully scripted dialogue and a haunting soundtrack to boot this film draws the viewer in and wont let go until the end. I found the film a joy to watch, it is well shot with scenes moving into each other seemlessly and a well cast, Sarah Polley and Mark Ruffalo give a sterling performance and Sarah could not be better cast for the role.
