American History X, racism at its worst.
Advantages: Never a boring moment. Keeps you gripped.

A bunch of nuts in a great film
Advantages: Awesome cast give great performances
Disadvantages: Some bits can be difficult to watch

Nicholson and Bates Shine
Advantages: Funny, beautifully performed
Disadvantages: Missed a trick in the characterisation of Randall
This is a film about Warren Schmidt who is recently retired froma mundane office job and is struggling with retirement blues. Just when he thought he would live a long and (un)happy life with his wife of 42 years she suddenly drops dead. I struggled a little with the plot as some characters, and in particular that of Randall, were slightly cliched. he is a hillbilly with no prospects... the archetypal disapproved of boyfriend. in my mind the film would have been much funnier had Randall been more like Nicholson's character himself. Let the piano do the talking
Advantages: interesting story, excellent acting,
