The Day after Tommorow
Review of The Day After Tomorrow DVD by
AJ94
Advantages: great film
Disadvantages: slow story line
...Special effects are simply stunning, The story line is good and you can foolow along with it quite easily, It compares quite well to other film, for example the likes of 'Godzilla' and 'Indendence day' this film is right up there as it is simply amazing. It had me on the edge of my chair, and it made me think about the story line, as wether this could happen, .The opening could be called slow as it takes a while to get in to the thick of it, but ...

Review of Donnie Darko DVD by
OJspurs
Advantages: Has some good moments...
Disadvantages: Ill mental health after the confusing storyline
...the schizophrenic, cynical and rebellious Donnie Darko (Jake Gyllenhall), and his new school friend, Gretchin. Oh, we mustn't forget Donnie's imaginary friend called Frank who - wait for it - is a man-sized bunny rabbit!
Enjoyable it is not, but I do not hate this film as such, I am just frustrated as, after hours of contemplation, I am no more clued up than I was before the film started.
Disappointing as the film is, Director Kelly can learn from ...

The Day After Tomorrow - Awesome Sights
Review of The Day After Tomorrow DVD by
Goldfish100
Advantages: special effects, raising awareness of the environment
Disadvantages: not enough destruction, slightly predictable
...GCSE course, i fully enjoyed the whole of this movie.
so what? it was a bit predictable in places and Jake Gyllenhaal was a bit mis matched in his character, you can not honestly say that there was not bits in the movie that fully encptured your attention.
The special effects were AMAZING!!!!!! Even though i was a bit dissappointed at the level of destruction. I'm sure that the director didn't want to be seen as inconsiderate by destroying new ... ...At first i thought the film was going to be boring because of all the technicsal terms, but it really made me think, and understand what climate change would do to Earth as we know it - even though it is put across a bit unrealistically in the film i think some people will start thinking about their actions and the role they are taking in destroying the environment.
I recommend you see this film even if you are not interested in the environment... ...

'Cellar door', anyone?
Review of Donnie Darko (Director's Cut) by
Raef86
Advantages: Interesting and entertaining
Disadvantages: None
BASIC STORY
Donnie Darko is a smart fifteen-year old with a history of behaviourial and psychological problems. He's stopped taking his medication, and is sleepwalking and hallucinating on a regular basis.
When following the instructions of a hallucination saves his life, Donnie has no choice but to believe the same hallucination's claim that the world is soon going to end…
There's a lot more to the film than just this, but I don't want to give ... ...school that Donnie attends is religious and conservative, which plays quite a big part in the film because he struggles to break out of the moral constraints imposed upon its students that don't make sense to him.
FILM
The concept, acting and direction of this film are all great; there's plenty going on to hold your interest, particularly if you watch it regularly [it requires some effort to understand exactly what's happened - there are no right ...
