My Reason For Purchasing A Beautiful Mind DVD. I wrote this review a year or so ago for another review site which has since closed. I thought I would upload it here as A Beautiful Mind is one of my favourite Drama films ever and I just wanted to recommend it and give some opinions on it. The Mafia ain't got nothing on this guy......

Advantages: Some powerful moments and acting
Disadvantages: Not as good as it should have been

I had visions of this being a masterpiece, it had been hyped up so much. Review of American Gangster (DVD)

I'm just an engineer! Let me go!!

Advantages: Great acting and directing
Disadvantages: Imbalance at times. Have to be in the right frame of mind

This 2000 kidnap drama from director Taylor Hackford has a very good all round package. It has some marvellous scenery and some mood-setting lighting which has given this film some praise. It combines the talents of Meg Ryan and Russell Crowe in roles we would not normally associate them with. Review of Proof Of Life (DVD)

When America was on its knees, He Brought Them To Their Feet

Advantages: A great uplifting film, the acting is brilliant
Disadvantages: It might be a bit too violent for some and it is a long film

...the reason why it’s called Cinderella Man, is because it was the nickname that was given to Braddock when he came from nothing. Not Vintage but Palatable

Advantages: Entertaining for the most with some enjoyable moments of humour
Disadvantages: Drags its feet too often and Crowe's annoyingly fake British accent
