Norton Shines in The Score
Advantages: DeNiro and Norton Disadvantages: Can't think of any
The Score has a great ensemble cast. Robert DeNiro, Edward Norton, Marlon Brando, and Angela Basset. Brando and Basset aren't in much of the movie, just a scene here and there. DeNiro and Norton are in all most all of the movie. DeNiro is a thief. When the movie starts he is breaking into a safe during a party. He is almost caught by a couple that goes into that room for some privacy, but he gets away with the diamonds he was after. You see how he ... ...Brando plays Max. He fences the stuff DeNiro steals. They have been working together for years. Max has what he is calling a big score for DeNiro. 4 million dollars. Max doesn't say what the item is then, just that it is stuck in the customs building in Montreal. DeNiro doesn't want to do. He never works in his own backyard. Max doesn't want to let it drop, and says he has a guy on the inside to handle the security system. DeNiro still isn't interested ...

A match made in heaven (Depp and Brando that is)
Advantages: Unique and magical Disadvantages: Only 97 minutes long
...character (Johnny Depp) dressed as Don Juan (although easily mistaken for Zorro) tells the Doctor he is Don Juan he is predictably sectioned. Curious about this deluded yet charming 21 year old, Michler fights his boss and peers for the case despite his pending departure.
Tasked with deciding if his patient should be incarcerated indefinitely or allowed to leave following his initial 10 confinement, Michler spends time getting to know his patient, ... ...falling in love with the Don Juan character (and not just because it is played by Johnny Depp) and reveling in his beautiful, untainted yet unreal existence. The words he uses to seduce women are beautiful (albeit relatively cheesy by today's standards) and the detailed description of his lost love and his beloved mother and the death of his father are verging on hypnotic. The dialogue is sensational. Both Depp and Brando's characters appear one ...

Classic Contender
Advantages: Brando is mesmerising and has real chemistry with Saint, whilst the rest of the cast hold their own Disadvantages: Brando bears no resemblance to this anymore and Sinatra could have played his role!
...is a film that improves on repeated viewing even though it is nearly fifty years old. It is a film that is rich in detail, showcasing an extraordinary performance from the film's lead, supported well by some equally able actors and complimented by an atmospheric score. Unlike many films of its era it has not dated badly, and is still fresh and intriguing even when the story of corruption in the Unions of New Jersey's longshoreman is no longer a contemporary ... ...controlling who works and lives on New Jersey's docks. Unfortunately for them Joey Doyle begins to threaten their position by threatening to testify against them, and Terry is given the job of luring Joey up onto the roof. When Joey is killed instead of forced to back down, Terry is forced to re-evaluate the life he is leading. Especially when he begins to fall in love with Joey's beautiful and headstrong sister Edie (Eva Marie Saint). A woman who ...

One wild film!
Advantages: Fantastic acting, a cult classic Disadvantages: I can't think of any!
The Wild One is a fabulous film that reflected the middle American hysteria that was rife in the the 1950s. Marlon Brando cemented his career in this iconic role as Jonny, a rebelious youth set on tearing up a small town with his band of drunk and out of control bikers. Based loosely upon a true story, 'The Wild One' is a fun and fast paced film that dares you to enjoy the carnage create by a terrific cast of rebels. This film I felt, had the same ... ...little bit of anarchy to the big screen. I could just picture the teens of the 50's flocking to the cinemas to see Brando enter on his motorbike and fall for the girl, Kathy (Mary Murphy). We also see Jonny (Brando) who is challenged by crazy Chino (Lee Marvin), his once friend now rival who is determined to knock him from his pedestal.
This film offers no special effects or stunning scenery but this is more than made up for in the performances ...

Button it!
Advantages: Enjoyable Disadvantages: About 45 minutes too long
The film begins in a hospital with Caroline and her mother, her mother is dying with only a few hours to live. She suddenly tells Caroline the tale of Mr Gateux (or Mr Cake) and his train station clock, the clock runs backward, and this prompts Caroline's mother to ask Caroline to read from a diary she has in her suitcase. The diary has been written by a man Caroline doesn't know, and is the story of his life, it was written by Benjamin Button. Benjamin ... ...He gets home to find the priest has already been called and the doctor informs him that she will die shortly. He rushes to his wife's side, and with her last few breathes she asks him to make sure 'there will always be a place for him', her husband agrees, but within seconds of seeing the boy his promise is forgotten. The sight of his son horrifies him so much that he rushes to the river to drown him, but is interrupted by a night watchman. Instead ...
