Disadvantages: It scared the piss out of me to think that these things can be real.

Plusses: The biggest plus in my eyes, they are not scared to show anything, if in the case a girl got skinned and raped, you really saw a scene that looked like that. The ammount of realism in the show is smashing, I could not believe how quickly I got sucked into the episode, it really gets my blood running. Even if you watched this when it first came out on TV believe me being able to watch each episode as and when you are ready is mind boggling. In fact if you have a couple of days to spare sit down and enjoy the whole series in one go. Each episode ends on a cliffhanger and you can't wait to get on to the next disc. The third series of The OC, and while still very compelling, it's probably the third best series too. The series once again centres around Ryan Atwood, Seth Cohen, Summer Roberts and Marissa Cooper. While the series is still pretty good, you can't help but feel that it's "more of the same" for the best part of the series. The storyline in which Marissa is caught up in a love triangle with her friend Johnny and her boyfriend Ryan, is very reminiscent ...
...and her friend Oliver. The middle of the series starts to drag. The introduction of Taylor Townsend as a major character gives Seth and Summer's relationship a much-needed extra dimension, but the series spends the middle portion treading water.
