Advantages: Much better than I had anticipated, good cast, nice story Disadvantages: Bit too dull for some,
Please note that this is a film only review - also, some of the specific criteria are not relevant: the film has no special effects to speak of and I haven't seen any other films by the same director I'll admit from the outset that this was NOT at the top of my list of Films to See. In fact, it wasn't even on my list! Having seen the trailer for this film a couple of times, I'd actually remarked to my boyfriend how rubbish this film looked. ... ...and when I managed to get free tickets to an advance screening of this film, I decided to bite the bullet and give it a go. My boyfriend took a bit of persuading, but eventually agreed to accompany me, gentleman than he is. So, expectations low, it was a win-win situation - either we'd be right and the film would be rubbish, or we'd be wrong and actually enjoy it. And all for freeee :D So what's it about? Burt and Verona are a thirty-something ...

Review of Away We Go
Advantages: Top British comedy Disadvantages: Post strike?
The Star...Eric Cantona! Genre...'Dromedy' (drama-comedy) Suited for....Adults With the postal strike depressing us all right now then why not a topical film about a depressed postman to cheer us all up, 'Looking for Eric', directed by the rebellious director Ken Loach, certainly one to lift some of your anxieties if your waiting on your student loan cheque or hoping your credit card payment made it. This is great stuff and I now have a clear front ... ...just edge The Dammned United, the BAFTAs sure to embrace this delightful mix of humour and poignant comment on the male mid-life crisis. Not only that but it's an uncontroversial Loach film for once and with a happy ending, a rarity indeed, old lefty Loach getting a softer side as the years race on. The appeal of Loach's work in general is his unique and gritty 'improv' style where actors don't get to see the script outline until the night before ...

Review of Looking For Eric
Advantages: good acting, fun plot Disadvantages: -
...round to seeing it then. 500 Days of Summer had a lot of talk around it and seemed like a love story to me from the title but I soon realised it was not about the season but in fact a girl called summer. The story begins with us meeting Tom Hansen he works for a greeting card company just getting on with his life but we are told that from a young age he has always been looking for the one and was on a search. One day he is in his office when he looks ... ...I assumed it was about 500 days of the summer months when a romance happened but it is the opposite and even at the start of the film it states that this is not a love story. If you like a modern day film about relationships and a realistic approach rather than a fairytale ending, then you should take a look at this. The cast is great and there are a lot of laughs to be had in this film which also makes a film more watchable. The film lasts for 95 ...
Advantages: Good Photography of Paris and Normandy, good costumes Disadvantages: Not enough insight of how Coco became Chanel
Coco Chanel (Audrey Tautou) was also known as Gabriele and she was one fiesty lady; a very attractive woman who had many a love interest in her life but never committed herself to any man. Her great passion was her work, she was totally focussed at all times on making a name for herself in the world of haute couture. She was the first woman in fashion to free women of uncomfortable whale bone corsets and frilly, fancy tops and introduce a masculine ... ...century. The film, Coco before Chanel is a French speaking film with sub-tiltles. Although when I saw the movie at the cinema it was in French with Polish sub-titles. Not for the faint hearted but I am okay with French so it wasn't too bad. The film takes us into Coco's world, a world where she is in the spotlight for her vivacity, forward thinking and outrageous designs. In the beginning the film focuses on her surprisingly tragic and difficult ...
Advantages: Brilliant performanes, nice music Disadvantages: Slightly too long

Divorced from the editor of the paper, Steve sets out to reveal local people in his column who have had a bad run of luck.
