No one should drink period blood!
Review of Anatomy Of Hell (Wide Screen) by filmbuff85

Advantages: Brave, intelligent
Disadvantages: Not for everyone, sex in film may overshadow the sociological/psychological intentions

Men hate women, this is the axiom that Breillat's latest film is based, as regular viewers will know, this is a subject that she is acutely interested in. A lonely woman wanders into a gay bar, heads for the toilets and slits her wrists. One of the patrons spots her and takes her to get medical attention. After she is bandaged up she gives him a blowjob and then hires him to watch her when she is unwatchable, for four nights. What follows is a serious ...
...relationships, stringed together with scenes of graphic and real sexual acts. Adapted from her novel Pornocratie, Breillat's latest art house shock fest is likely to divide viewers. There is no real story just a flimsy premise that serves as a soapbox for her philosophical musings. It is largely set in one room and the only two characters are the unnamed man and woman. The strong sexual imagery is set up from the outset, which sees one man giving ... Read review

What can go wrong, will...
Review of Head On DVD by natalka57

Advantages: incredible performances, strong characters you care about (even despite yourself)
Disadvantages: relentless in the bad things that happen, subtitles sometimes sketchy

Director Fatih Akin, a Turk born and brought up in Germany, won a shelf-ful of prizes for this film, including the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival 2004. As a film, it will leave you emotionally wrung out, and portrays both the intense highs and the deep lows that come of falling to pieces, and how it feels to have no sense of belonging: two people who want to live but can't quite work out how, and how they could find out who they are together, ...
...alone. "What's the story?" It might seem the film it has reached its low point right at the beginning, when Cahit (Birol Unel), a 40-odd year old Turk living in Germany, drives his car into a wall in an alcohol-fuelled suicide attempt. Recovering in the psychatric ward, he meets Sibel (Sibel Kekilli), who keeps staging attention-seeking suicide attempts in just-out-of-teenage acts of defiance against her overbearing traditional (also Turkish) family. ... A + for any film lover
Review of 21 DVD by calumneilson

Advantages: Great plot, good acting
Disadvantages: Slow Start

This is an amazing film. A student is trying to apply for Harvard but needs to be amazing to get a scholarship. He is amazing at maths and is asked to join a card counting group. They go to Vegas and make millions, until things go wrong. The plot is gripping, you will always be wanting to find out what is coming next. You will never be bored. The start of the film is a little slow, but this is like all films. The acting is really top notch, a ...
...main characters are all amazing. The filming is great, plot is amazing and characters are brilliant actors. I see no reason why you will not like this film if you are a fan of non-violent crime/thriller movies. The only downside is that card counting is way hard than this film makes out! ... Read review

Frodo cannot stay Frodo forever!
Review of Green Street DVD by 05cwestr

Advantages: Action pact
Disadvantages: Elijah wood is not different because he is not frodo.

Green street is an excellent film that is action pact. In the film west ham supports have there own gang, this is the same as any other football team across Europe. West ham use to be the most feared of them all until the major left. When Matt Buckner (Elijah Wood) becomes part the crew a split in the gang starts to begin. After every game the GSH (green street hooligans) Will fight the other supporters and will cause trouble. Through out the film ...
...the ultimate price is paid. This action pact film shows emotion, fear and aggression all rolled into one movie. WOW! With strong violence and language this is not a film for people that do not like blood. I totally advise you to watch it but for all those Lord of the rings fans out there this will be kind of odd (It was for me anyway) the fact that Elijah wood is not frodo Baggins. Despite this I loved the action that continued right the way through ... Read review
