ofDragons Denis anything to go by. And with the panel of business experts seemingly more stringent than ever before on who they give their money to, it once again makes for some compelling television. For the second season ofDragons Den, the make up of the panel slightly changed. While Duncan Bannatyne, Doug Richard, Rachel Elnaugh and Peter Jones all returned, Simon Woodruffe parted company with the show. His place was taken by Theo Paphitis, who proves to be a more-than-compelling replacement. For Elnaugh and Richard, incidentally, it would be their last season. All six episodes ofDragons Dens second series are presented in this DVD set, then, along with a special accompanying book. But its the main feature itself thats the attraction, as a selection of interesting and downright bizarre ideas and creations are paraded in front of the panel. The process is simply compelling to watch, even if you cant help but curl up and cringe in sympathy when the participants nerves get the better of them.Whats particularly surprising, of course, is that as with the previously released debut season ofDragons Den, theres so much rewatch value here. Its interesting to see, too, that many of the projects the Dragons chose to back still havent progressed much further since the day they were pitched. Nonetheless, the programme remains fascinating television, and this is a very welcome DVD release. --Simon Brew

Everyone loves watching a bit of reality TV. I've never been one to watch Big Brother or anything like that but watching people risk their money for potential businesses is more up my street. I had always liked business, watching the FTSE 100 every morning and even taking it as a subject at school. So you can see why I became addicted to the DragonsDen

Advantages: Great show, variety of judges with different personalities, great presenting and narration. Disadvantages: None
DragonsDen is shown on BBC2 and has five judges who are Theo Paphitis, James Caan, Deborah Meaden, Peter Jones & Duncan Bannatyne who between them are worth over 1 billion pounds. The show is hosted by Evan Davis.
The concept of the show is very well thought out but also quite simple. Entrepreneurs will enter the DragonsDen, have a quick chat with Evan Davis to explain what they are producing or what their idea is and then they will be sent through to the Dragons' Den. They will pitch their product or service to the Dragons and then they will ask for a certain amount of cash for a percentage stake in their company. It is then up to the Dragons to ask questions about their product or service and test things out and advise whether or not they think the product or service is viable and then they will say whether they want to purchase ...

this money to the entrepreneur if they feel there invention is good, if they feel they can make a bit of money from it and if the amount of equity is right.
This series one DVD, has all the episodes from the first series across 2 DVDs.
This first series contains 6 episodes which run for 360 minutes, so there is quite a lot of viewing for your money as each episode last nearly an hour.
If you’ve seen this before then I don’t think you can really argue how good TV it is, and if you haven’t your in for a treat if you buy this.
I also think the current series 5 is on TV at the moment so stay tuned for that. ...
