Dragon DVD

Advantages: Can use dvd cover for something else. Dvd makes good coaster
Disadvantages: You waste 90 minutes of your life. Watch some paint dry instead.

...would be a halfway decent dragon - which appears hardly at all in the movie. The plot finds our heroine - a royal princess - on a diplomatic mission to a neighbouring realm. Completely alone, without guards, transport and dressed for court. Attacked by two rougesome chaps with badly applied face-paint and pointy ears (dark elves apparently) she squeaks and runs. The dragon turns up and eats one of the dark elves and the other is offed by two mysterious ...
...the nasty forest where the dragon and the necromancer live they are ambushed by three "Picts" but soon all become fast friends (it's that sort of movie) and we discover the Picts are out to kill the dragon. Then they meet the necromancer and the plot goes downhill from there. The necromancer decides to help them kill the dragon - which she had summoned at the behest of.....nah that would be a spoiler. Advantages: Fantastic film for all the family
Disadvantages: Subtitles, but are easy to keep up with

...Ang lee's finest piece of cinema is now avalable on DVD. This was the winner of numerous academy awards and Oscars for best forgien film. In it's first week of release it grossed millions of dollars across the world. The plot of the film is very well structured with a very easy to follow and pick up half way through story. The charaters are very beleivable in the time that the film is set. The graphics, action sequences are excellent with a good lot of sword play all the way through the film. Martial arts fans will be loving it from start to finish, that's not to say it will only interest them. This is throughly enjoyable film for all the family, althought some of the younger viewers may find it hard to keep reading the subtitles and watching the film. All in all an excellent film and a worthwhile purchased to watched again and again.... Read review

Advantages: Superb music good story

...One of the best films I've ever seen. Music superb, and just right for the film with very good insight into the many moods of the story. The location most interesting, and is about traditional and cultural values. It is a different type of love story. Fast pacing in some parts during the fighting, which is build around old style traditionand values. I coped with the subtitles very well, but not everyone holds that view. I was not at all disappointed with the dvd. I did not know that it was going to be as good as it was. The Photography was superb, helping to give insight to the film and added to my enjoyment. A Dvd to rembember! and one to add to any collection, A must!... Read review
