The film starts by showing you a happy couple and their son, whose about 2 years old. They are both Highly respected people in their town. On the outside they seem like the perfect couple, very happy with lots of friends although all is not what it seems. Elizabeth loves boats and sailing so when her best friend and her husband arranged a surprise boat trip for her and her husband as a break she is delighted. Her best friend Angela offers to look after their son while they go away. So they sail away - after enjoying a bottle of wine they get down to a night of passion and finally both fall to sleep. Elizabeth is woken suddenly in the night and feels for her husband .She realises that he is not in bed, so she starts calling him, she is covered in blood and in shock. She follows the trail of blood and sees a knife covered in blood on the floor and blood leading to the boat edge. The police come and find her like this and she explains that she doesn’t know where her husband is she thinks someone has got onto the boat in the night and attacked him. The police search the water and although they don’t found his body they declare him dead and arrest Elizabeth and charge her for his murder. She is sentenced to 6 years in jail. She asks Angela her best friend if she would adopt her son and look after him for her until she gets out of prison. Angela agrees and takes Elizabeth’s son, Angela promises to take him to see her every month. Saying goodbye to her son she fights back tears and tells him that they’ll be together again soon. In prison the other women think she is just a rich bitch who stabbed her husband for money. She tells them she is innocent and starts to think of ways to get out of jail by appealing to the courts. One of the women then tell her this, “Do your time, the state says you have already killed your husband so if you find him you can kill him and walk free and there is nothing they can do about it”. In American law you can not be trailed for the same crime twice - Double Jeopardy. While in jail Elizabeth phones Angela to speak to her son but is told she has moved address. Angela stops bringing her son to see her. Elizabeth tracks down Angela’s new address by phoning companies and giving false information. She phones Elizabeth and tells her to put her son on the phone now. Whist talking to her son she hears her husband in the background. - The plot thickens She now knows that he is not dead and that he and Angela planned the whole thing, so they could become a family with her out of the way. This gives Elizabeth hope and she starts training in jail. She starts running and weight training, pure hate is driving her on. After 6 years in prison she gets patrol. Her parole officer is a complete control freak with a serious attitude problem. (Tommy Lee Jones plays this part spot on) He is very strict and takes no crap. So now that Elizabeth is out of jail she heads straight for the library to find out information where her so-called mate has gone with her son. What wonderful things computers are she types in her name and with a little help her address pops up. SO the chaise is on!! I don’t want to spoil the ending for you all so I’ll stop here, I will tell you that, when she tracks down her friend’s address she is told that her friend died in a house fire over a year ago, The plot defiantly thickens. Sorry I can’t say anymore. Elizabeth’s love for her son won’t let her give up looking for him; she breaks nearly every rule in the book to find him. An absolutely fascinating film packed with action and suspense from start and finish. # Rated 15

I got my copy from a video shop. It only cost me £3.99, as it was an ex-rental.
