There had been fighting games beforeStreet Fighter, but not in the way we think of them ... more
today. In fact, few would rememberStreet Fighterhad it not been for the technological improvements ofStreet Fighter 2, whose graphics and handling brought into the spotlight a game of paired fighters leveraging muscle, mass, and forces of nature in a mano a mano battle for supremacy. The series owes its success not only to the fact that outcomes of each fight rest on the growing abilities of players, but also because it breaks the video-game stereotype that commonly links size to strength--isn't it refreshing to see a small character like Chun Li take down a big oaf like Blanka? Also, this veteran series benefits from regular infusions of new blood; it features an ever-expanding cast of characters, each with different origins, fighting styles, strengths, and weaknesses.WithStreet Fighter 3: Double Impact, you get two full coin-op games built into one Dreamcast disc:Street Fighter 3: New GenerationandStreet Fighter 3: Second Impact.New Generationfeatures returning vets Ken and Ryu and introduces us to a new group that includes a tough New Yorker avenging his defeated martial arts instructor; twin Chinese kung fu masters; a sophisticated Afro-British boxer; a teenaged female ninja from Japan; a daughter of an African tribal leader; a Russian cyberpunk; a Brazilian student; and Oro, a 140-year-old hermit who fights with only one arm.Second Impactsees that ante and raises it with three additional characters. The games allow players to deflect oncoming attacks with a technique called parrying; players can also customise characters with one of three different Super Art moves before each fight begins.

Advantages: A kick ass movie Disadvantages: It's not rocket science
...fight scenes though, and whilst the acting is laughable, it's well shot and doesn't pretend to be anything it isn't. And the laydeeeeez (and some of the guys I guess) are gonna love seeing Mr Damme in double vision. So everyone's a winner.

Mr Van Damme is one of fortunes favoured few - a famous Belgian. (OK who thought he was French). He was a renowned body builder and karate expert in his home country before he made a fledgling career in Hong Kong ku fu movies and subsequently moved out to Hollywood in the early 1980's, where he got his big break in the Seattle karate film No Retreat No Surrender.
So what about this film then? Made in 1991, it's a martial arts film with Van Damme taking the parts of both twin brothers. Stop laughing at the back there.
Twins by the name of Chad and Alex Wagner are forcibly split up after the murder of their parents by a Hong Kong triad. Alex stays in the former British colony ending up as a smuggler/run runner, while Chad somehow (it isn't explained) ends up in Los Angeles as a personal trainer. To make matters even more far fetched, 25 years later Chad goes to Hong Kong to find his brother and they go after their parents killers.
There is a great bit where Alex, the bedenimmed hard man, meets Chad, resplendent in pink shirt and shorts. No way can you be my brother dressed like that, he laughs.
Action fans will like the scene where the brothers sail out of HK waters to pick up two hooky Mercs and the deal goes wrong, ending up with two top-of-the-line cars sailing off into the South China Sea. There is a bit of a love interest and I don't want to give the ending away but you can all guess what happens in the end, yeah?
Most people would probably think it's little more than a Twins remake, but it bears closer comparison with Elvis in Kissin' Cousins, and Jean-Claude is about as good an actor as The King too.
The film grossed over $30 million in the US alone, giving JCVD his platform for the blockbuster Universal Soldier.
I could waffle on with another 400 words but I mean, this is Van Damme as you've probably guessed is not going to exert your brain too much. Martial arts fans will like the fight scenes though, and whilst the acting is laughable, it's well shot and doesn't pretend to be anything it isn't. And the laydeeeeez (and some of the guys I guess) are gonna love seeing Mr Damme in double vision. So everyone's a winner.
Advantages: a clever film and rather enjoyable Disadvantages: typical van damme acting but hard to play two people
as van damme films go this is probably the best he has done.playing to parts at once as brothers seperated at birth and reunited 25 years on is admirable given van dammes lack of acting quality.basically a story of two different brothers seperated as infants due to the brutal slaughter of their parents by chinese underworld gangsters.it revolves around a bridge that was constructed using the expertise of van dammes parents who were then executed ... ...the bridge profits over the years.their bodyguard at the time arrived to late to save his parents and with the babies being left in the car he grabbed one and headed off while the childminder made off through the bushes with the other.one was left and raised in hong kong while the other was taken and raised in france then bought to america to run a karate business.basically the bodyguard takes chad(van damme) to hong kong to find his brother alex(also ...

Advantages: very good martial arts as always with van damme! Disadvantages: can guess the ending from the beginning of the film
as always with jean claude van damme the story line is very easy to follow but just full of martial arts and special effects(in the time it was made), i think this is how the producers of van damme films try to entice viewers, Not to keen on the twin thing as i think this is what gives the story line up straight away, a good film is one you have to watch till the very end. very similar to alot of van dammes. if you have never seen a van damme movie ...
