This might be based on a play but that's no excuse for an out & out awful plot. Brian Rix plays the lead role, a minister who is kidnapped on his wedding day in an attempt to disgrace a morality bill that he is trying to put through Parliment.

The lovely Katy Manning (of Dr Who and semi-naked Dalek fame) plays his lead kidnapper, the very typecast Leslie Phillips plays the 2nd minister who is also involved in the morality bill but on the side is having no end of carnal fun with women left, right & centre. The police who gatecrash the "orgy" (a set-up to disgrace Rix) have no warrant and enter the house illegally so anything they see they can't use.

Rix escapes and flees back to his home (followed by Manning and the police). When the police enter Rix's house they enter by an open window from a fire escape (illegal unlawful entry) and start to question everyone. Having entered the house illegally with no warrant, they have no authority to question anyone.

With women entering the flat/house and ending up in varying states of undress, the farce ensues. It's not so much a farce as complete rubbish. Grown consenting adults unable to explain simple things to each other. This might sound like I am giving a lot of the movie away but when you watch it you'll find I haven't told you all that much at all.

The only real plus in this is the lovely Joanna Lumley, it's an attempt to run a plot on double entendrez and being caught in the act with people you shouldn't be with. It's ridiculous, having been made in one of the most sexually permissive decades there ever was. The most annoying thing is the way the police constantly abuse their authority and illegally enter premises, asking questions where they have no right. Best left unwatched unless you are a really big Lumley or Manning fan.

A missed edit/typo at the end there - i think you meant to say it also appears elsewhere (it mistakenly refers to Ciao) on the 'net.
