I find that British actors and actresses get overly bigged up by the press in the UK - as fun as Pretty Woman was, Julia Roberts still has a gob that a croc would be proud of, Hugh Grant is an irritating twonk.. Dench and Caine are quite stereotyped but at least reasonably good actors which is more than you can say for the damsel of the decade Keira Knightley. If there's one actress, I can't stand it is her - a self-centered rich girl with similar parts, whose part has in my eyes been the downfall of Pirates of the Carribean as it has turned into a soppy love story rather than a bit of all out piracy and general havoc!
Before justifying my judgement, I thought I'd at least check some more of her films outbefore passing comment. Domino was my film of choice, and guess what - it's still the silly rich girl trying to do grown up boys things - this time she plays the part of bounty hunter Domino Harvey who before her death commented that she was unhappy with her portrayal in the film and I'm not surprised at all.
Knightley plays an unconcvincing rich girl turned punk who is good with num chucks, her phrases are dull and the scenarios are unrealistic, Micky Rourke plays a reasonably decent hard man until the end where he messes it up by saying that he didn't really lose his toe in a prison riot but due due to being angry over a girl. The ending is bizarre and even poorer than the mediocre build-up.
It's very Hollywood, it's very crap and Knightley's part is as believable as Tara Palmer Tomkinson being in charge of the Russian mafia. This film had an easily interesting enough plot to start with but they messed it up no end and it was very poor!Actors (courtesy of Wikipedia)
Keira Knightley as Domino Harvey
Mickey Rourke as Ed Moseby. Rourke initially turned down the film, saying he did not like the role, but agreed to do the film when Tony Scott had the role rewritten.

Hmmm, I'm detecting a bit of anti Kiera Knightley bias in the review but it does look like a poor film just by the cover!
