One for all & all for Dogtanian

Advantages: Takes you right back to the days of yore (well, 1980's)
Disadvantages: Quality is a little poor in some places

to try to influence the younger generation somehow!). This is a 4 disk box set containing the entire series of 26 enthralling episodes of 'Dogtanian & the Three Muskehounds' and special features which include profiles of all the characters and the song words! Each disk comes in a neat slim-line DVD case and the whole set is contained within a rather nice plastic sleeve. The pictures on the cases are a little disappointing and resemble medium-quality colour photocopies, but this may be more to do with the age of the cartoon itself. The insde of the cover contains the original theme tune lyrics, so you can sing to your hearts content (and if you are really bored, you can learn them off by heart) Although I'm not sure every box set has this, mine came with an exclusive Dogtanian poster, which is double sided. The DVD themselves are ...

All for one

Advantages: Focuses on friendships
Disadvantages: Concepts may be difficult for very young children to understand

All for one. Another book by Jill Murphy, who over the years has been quite a prolific children's story book writer This one focuses on friendships, and is a great book to read to children who might be going through problems with friends, and who may feel they are being left out of things. THE STORY AND ILLUSTRATIONS. The story begins with Marlon, who is a dragon, and also the main character in the story, running out of things to do. He had done all of his favourite things, like drawing and making secret caves, and goes to his granny to say that he wished he had someone to play with. Granny and mum get him to tidy up his mess, and he goes outside where he finds his friends hitting each other with swords. They are playing the Three Muskateers and when Marlon asks if h can join in, they won't let him, because there are of course ...

All In One Piece - Really?

Advantages: Fun to read humorous story with an element of real life to it!
Disadvantages: None

All In One Piece by Jill Murphy *I thought that I would review this children's book, as a tribute to all those parents who understand just how difficult it is, to get ready for a rare night out.* ***What's it all about?*** Well, this is another in a series of books about the Large family - a family of elephants and the evening when Mr and Mrs. Large get to venture out, to the office-dinner dance. Of course the children can't go and so grandma comes to babysit. Granny arrives at tea time and the children are bathed and ready for bed. Granny lets them do some painting, whilst mum and dad go upstairs to get ready in peace. However? Luke watches his dad shaving and ends up getting the foam on his trunk. Dad tells him to go away. Whilst Mrs. Large is concentrating on doing her hair and make up, she doesn't see baby ...
