fulfil his dream of being a muskehound (musketeer). Setting off from his home town of Bearn the early episodes chart Dogtanians journey to Paris as he travels with his yellow pony Sandy through the country. His passage is filled with adventure as he meets his arch enemy, The Black Moustache, the mysterious Milady and his love interest Julliette and involves plenty of action, drama and tears, setting the scene for the rest of the series. Advantages: Hilarious comedy, good viewing Disadvantages: only 3 episodes, expensive to buy whole set individually
Another installement to my DVD collection - the epic and classic comedy hero - Mr Bean. I love Rowan Atkinson, especially in Black Adder and also in the classic Mr Bean episodes. Despite my mood before hand, after watching Mr Bean I always feel much better, he always manages to intrigue my imagination with his biazarre mannerisms and abilty to turn the most straight forward of tasks into complete disaters!
Having not being able to buy the whollebox set I have had to purchase and review each DVD volume one by one.
This DVD contains 3 episodes, each with 3 or 4 sketches in them. All of whihc are brilliant and this DVD includes one of my favourites - the one where he goes to the swimming pool and clings to the diving board. The threeepisodes are entitled: Episode 1. 'The Curse Of Mr Bean', Episode2. 'Mr Bean Goes To Town ...
Advantages: Nostalgic. Fun extras. Disadvantages: Not whole series, only first 9 episodes so far
As you might expect from the title, Dogtanian and the ThreeMuskehounds is an adaptation of Alexandre Dumas' novels about the Three Musketeers. It is adapted well, and is a great way of introducing the story to a younger generation.
Dogtanian and the ThreeMuskehounds was one of my favourite cartoons as a child, so when I saw that the DVD was being released I had to buy it.
I was not to be disappointed.
The DVD features the first 9 episodes of the series, and from the moment you switch on, you are transported back to those childhood days sat in front of the TV watching Dogtanian, Aramis, Athos and Porthos battling against the sinister M'Lady, and Cardinal Richelieu. Recall how Sandy hoisted Dogtanian up into the saddle and the blossoming romance of Dogtanian and Juliet.
