How did they do it 2000 years ago???
Advantages: Discovery Channel production Disadvantages: a bit too short
...methods used to create the seven wonders of ancient Rome- the Pantheon, the aqueducts, the Via Appia, the baths of Caracalla, the markets of Trajan, the Circus Maximus and the Colosseum. It is really interesting especially for people who have had the chance to see these sights, it puts things into perspective. I was amazed when I visited the Colosseum and had some many questions about the way it was build around 2000years ago (89 AD) and that DVD ... ...uses superb CG graphics and 3D modelling to recreate brilliantly the key structures and architectual devices that made the Roman Empire famous.
The DVD can be purchased in pretty much every big store- Virgin, HMV etc. Online it can be bought from all the usual places- amazon, ebay and also it can be rented at amazon.co.uk DVD rental.
The only drawback is the lack of any interesting features.
It is a Discovery Channel productions and runs for 53minutes. ...

Superb documentary that has never been rivalled
Advantages: Fantastic pooling of archive footage, interviews with eyewitnesses and no sensationalism Disadvantages: Occasionally, Laurence Olivier's excellent commentary can be a little hard to hear
The World at War was first broadcast in 1973 and ever since then has stood as the benchmark for Second World War documentaries. Composed of archive footage (mostly black and white) and interviews with some of the eyewitnesses from both sides of the conflict, it avoids the annoying modern trend in documentaries of repetition and pointless and/or endless reconstructions that cannot capture meaning or emotion. It will never be bettered in the sense ... ...It is also narrated by the excellent Oscar-winning Laurence Olivier, whose sparse narration has just the right level of sombre gravitas to provide a fitting frame for the events the documentary relates.
It's a very thorough, comprehensive series. There are twenty-six original episodes and this box set also includes eight special presentations and a three hour 30th Anniversary disc with includes previously unseen interviews and retrospective interviews ...

Great documentry must see
Advantages: Great documentry must see. Disadvantages: none
I've been a fan of Tupac Shakur for years, I would say I am a obsessive one. I own all of his albums and I've seen all of his movies. The new documentary, Tupac: Resurrection, answers just about every question anyone may have. So watch it
There have been many unauthorized movies about the life of Tupac, a.k.a. 2Pac, but this is the first one officially commissioned by his mother, Afeni Shakur. Tupac Amaru Shakur, born Lesane Parish Crooks, was born ... ...In September of 1996, Tupac was leaving the Mike Tyson-Bruce Seldon fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas with Death Row Records label head Marion "Suge" Knight when they were the victims of a drive-by shooting. On September 13, 1996, he passed away at the age of 25, six days after the shooting.
The movie is structured very much in the way that last year's The Kid Stays in the Picture was. They both overlap cutouts of the pictures of the subjects ...

Try out Time Team you'll love it!
Advantages: Great classic time team with all the Team Disadvantages: Your favourite dig may not be in there
...Never seen it? Well heres the premise: Tony Robinson presents it, the Team do some research into a site which needs to be archaelogically dug then he acts like the layman and asks lots of questions about what they are digging and what they are finding and tries to get them to uncover the myseries of the site.
But the archaelogists really make this programme. Mick is the chief arch and he looks like a mad professor with long wispy hair and never ... ...on his bike looking at the geometry of the area. John is the geophysics guy who picks up all the electro magnetic activity and stuff to guide them to where they dig and lastly theres Phil, this guy has so much energy, hes a west country chap with just so much enthusaism for what he finds it just sucks you in.
Anyway, to the DVD! This DVD is a great one for getting into Time Team because it has all the interesting episodes on it! I mean, Time Team ...
