Great documentry must see
Advantages: Great documentry must see. Disadvantages: none
I've been a fan of Tupac Shakur for years, I would say I am a obsessive one. I own all of his albums and I've seen all of his movies. The new documentary, Tupac: Resurrection, answers just about every question anyone may have. So watch it
There have been many unauthorized movies about the life of Tupac, a.k.a. 2Pac, but this is the first one officially commissioned by his mother, Afeni Shakur. Tupac Amaru Shakur, born Lesane Parish Crooks, was born ... ...In September of 1996, Tupac was leaving the Mike Tyson-Bruce Seldon fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas with Death Row Records label head Marion "Suge" Knight when they were the victims of a drive-by shooting. On September 13, 1996, he passed away at the age of 25, six days after the shooting.
The movie is structured very much in the way that last year's The Kid Stays in the Picture was. They both overlap cutouts of the pictures of the subjects ...

Heritage, Fred Dibnah, Getting Steamed Up DVD
Advantages: Fantastic look back at Fred Dibnah's life Disadvantages: None
...we must preserve our industrial heritage for our own and future generations. Watching Fred swap tales of steam engines and of steeplejacking and jokes with his equally steam mad friends whilst supping ale at what the DVD bills as "the world's largest steam rally" at The Dorset Steam Fair is wonderful. As it is all too easy to forget, whilst watching those scenes filmed on a summer's day several years ago that Fred Dibnah is still with us, and not ... ...caravan is a real sight to see. Especially when they have to pull up at a fire hydrant to fill up.
Watch the famous (or infamous?!) Monton Chimney drop, as Fred displays the technique used to drop the chimney, that has been used for 1,000 years or more. The audio is not quite as good as it might be, it sounds as if the narrator and Fred were talking in a chimney when they were recorded!
It should cost about £12.99.
It also touches on the very ...

A Classic Documentary of a Classic Warbird
Advantages: A British Legend Disadvantages: Not long enough
Anyone who has seen the Spitfire in Flight and heard the roar of the Merlin will tell you that it's a Sound of freedom and the sight of Her elliptical wings in the sky stirs feelings in your stomach.
This DVD will take you through the History of this Classic Warbird from it's roots with the S.5 Seaplane to the Aircraft we are still fortunate to see in the air today!
When Mr Reginald Joseph Mitchell designed the Supermarine S.5 Seaplane to enter ... ...started on the base of an Aircraft that still captures hearts today.
In 1936 a Prototype Aircraft with the Ministry of Defence number F37/34 had completed Ground Trials and engine run-up tests. This Aircraft had the Registration K5054. (A well known Reg in Aviation Circles)
This Prototype was then named the "Spitfire" and Flew for the first time at 4:35pm on 5th of March 1936 with a flight lasting 8 minutes! It was enough, the Spitfire was go!

Cinema in Balance
Advantages: Utterly beautiful, visually and musically Disadvantages: Say what?
...be possible to go through Koyaanisqatsi scene by scene and yet it would also be impossible. There is a sense of mysticism to this film, most likely intentional as the title: Koyaanisqatsi comes from the Native American Hopi tribe, which is explained as the film finishes. For those of a curious disposition, Koyaanisqatsi means
1. Crazy life. 2. Life in turmoil. 3. Life disintegrating. 4. Life out of balance. 5. A state of life that calls for another ... ...no ordinary motion picture, and Koyaanisqatsi isn’t at all. It has a narrative, but in an entirely different sense to going down to your local multiplex and seeing a Hollywood blockbuster, which is not to suggest that there is anything wrong with doing so; Koyaanisqatsi is simply the kind of life that should be pretentious, self-indulgence-as-high-art rubbish. But it’s not. Why?
Koyaanisqatsi is a film built out of images. Some still, some in motion, ...

A film of EPIC Proportions
Advantages: A great experiment, interesting Disadvantages: A bit sick in places
A film of EPIC proportions. Before I start this review I must just firstly say that I like McDonalds, I would probably go so far as to say that I love McDonalds. Sometimes a Big Mac, fries and an diet coke is all that will hit the spot, but only once in a while and certainly not every day, not even every month but unfortunately some people do not seem to understand this and treat McDonald's like their everyday menu. This creates a country full of ... ...sue McDonalds for making them eat burgers everyday and then wonder why they are fat. Why is America so fat? This is the question that Morgan Spurlock sets out to answer in his documentary Supersize me. If you ever want to eat at McDonalds again I would recommend approaching this film with caution as there are some parts that will turn your stomach but saying that I have watched it a few times and yes, do still like the golden arches thankgoodness! ...
