Review of The Forgotten Bomber The Story Of The Blenheim Bomber by
SteveMason77
Advantages: Accurate Facts
Disadvantages: not much use to people not into Warbirds
This DVD is all about the Bristol Blenheim, a Fighter/Bomber that is still very welcome on the Airshow Curcuit today.
When Lord Rothermere (Owner of the Daily Mail) Said to Aircraft Manufacturers in 1935 that he wanted them to build a Twin Engine Monoplane that was equal to Aircraft being built overseas he felt it would be the best in the world.
Little did he know that Trouble was brewing in Mainland Europe and his Creation would go on to serve ... ...II.
Yet, as the Title of the DVD States, the Blenheim is the "Forgotten Bomber" as virtually no-one remembers the Aircrafts contribution to the Defense of This Country.
On the Blenheims First test flight it proved itself so fast at over 300mph it left the R.A.F.s Front line fighters standing as it outran them by 50mph. Lord Rothermere had named the Aircraft "Britain First" , A truly patriotic name for a home designed & built aircraft.
In July ...

Living the dream.
Review of Escape To River Cottage DVD by
marilynmonroelike
Advantages: Watch when you want to - factual - great recipes.
Disadvantages: None
I have watched this DVD a dozen times now i think - its lovely a to see how Hugh enthuses about the simple life - growing your own veg, raising animals, and being self sufficient...as I also live on a small farm I get immense pleasure watching his trials and successes because I can relate to them myself. If you hanker for the country life this DVD is a wonderful introduction to what to expect - the fruits of your labours are very rewarding and the ... ...friendly as you see them in the dvd. In my area the going rate for meat swapping is 1/2 sheep = 1/4 cow :) not a bad deal LOL ..... if your a 'townie' and simply want to sit back and watch someone get dirty and cook great food you will also love this because its funny, light hearted and has some devine recipes. Highly recommended to everyone . ...

School's in for Rocking!
Review of Rock School - The Complete First Series DVD by
Ailran
Advantages: Paul Green, the kids, the music, the direction, everything!
Disadvantages: Not much, maybe the music if you really hate Zappa
...man. He runs his own Rock School in Philadelphia where he imparts his musical wisdom to a number of 9-16 year olds, and whatever you think of his methods they certainly seem to work. Rock School the documentary (surely School of Rock must have been based on Green and his school?) follows Green around as he prepares his kids for a couple of shows. A Black Sabbath tribute one for his new and less accomplished students and a performance at a Zappa convention ... ...is as good as most rock guitarists will ever be, how a kid that age can be so good I just do not know but when you see him, almost hidden by his guitar, you just sit there open mouthed at his ability to play.
Then there is Madi, a bright, good looking young girl who wants to be a Sheryl Crow like performer and is always arguing with Green (in fact she is the one student who not only stands their ground with him but gives him as good as she gets ...

This Is The Girl Who Got Her Tingle Untangled???
Review of Inside Deep Throat DVD by
eve6kicksass
Advantages: Persuasive, hugely entertaining documentary on the Sexual Revolution
Disadvantages: Those who hate porn period may not bother
******************************************************************
TITLE: Inside Deep Throat
RATING: *****
CAST: Gerard Damiano, Linda Lovelace, Harry Reems, Charles Keating, Larry Parrish, Larry Flynt, Hugh Hefner, Dr. Ruth Westheimer, John Waters, Norman Mailer, Gore Vidal, Bill Kelly, Erica Jong, Lenny Camp, Dr. Helen Gurley Brown, Susan Brownmiller, Dick Cavett, Wes Craven, Carl Bernstein, Andrea True, Ron Wertheim, Xaviera Hollander, Arthur ... ...I saw the 2005 documentary INSIDE DEEP THROAT which I got a perfect picture of those troubled times. Now, some of you maybe thinking of “Deep Throat,” the secret informant who provided Woodward & Bernstein vital information about President Richard Nixon and the Watergate break-in; actually, INSIDE DEEP THROAT is about the 1972 porn film which came onto the scene like a bolt of lightening, infuriating the conservative government at the time who was ...

Moore goes where others don't dare to step
Review of Bowling For Columbine (Special Edition) by
ally2kc
Advantages: Enlightening and important piece of filmaking
Disadvantages: Shocking and disturbing in areas
...and important films such as Bowling for Columbine and the more recent Fahrenheit 911 he also writes books which are equally important to read (Downsize This, Adventures in a TV Nation, Dude, where's my Country, Stupid White Men etc).
I don't agree with everything Mr Moore has to say but I am thankful that someone has finally come along who is willing to stand up for what he believes in at any cost. Finally a small fish (Michael Moore isn't that ... ...along with a big helping of humour. The one this Michael Moore does exceptionally well is keep the balance between entertaining and informing. So often documentaries loose their audience due to lack of stimulation. When I first watched Bowling for Columbine I wanted to watch it over again almost immediately. ...
