Advantages: Beautifully made Disadvantages: not long enough
What a beautifully made documentary. You can really lose yourself in the sceneries you see on screen and before you know it your booking an adventure holiday to the congo. Sir David Attenborough brings such charisma and passion forward you wish to be in his shoes. My personal favourite moment is when Sir Attenborough is with the gorillas-what magnificent animals, you can really see their different personalities and facial expressions. Sir David manages ... ...animals.
I can not say there is anything I disliked about 'Great Wildlife Moments' apart from the horrid thought that most of the animals featured will be extinct in 20 years!
Whether you are watching this DVD for educational interests or personal interests it is deffinatly a worth while buy. ...
Advantages: So educational and interesting. Beautiful footage Disadvantages: None what so ever!
...for my boyfriend of 'The Life of Mammals'. We went a bit David Attenborough crazy and decided we were going to buy all of 'The Life Collection' series. This was the second box set from David Attenborough that we bought.
This series basically tells us about the development of life on our planet over 3.5 billion years! It is an amazing piece of work.
The dvd set has four discs with a total of 13 episodes on them.
The dvds have a total running time ... ...about the first evidence of life on our planet.

SYNOPSIS
This wildlife special from the BBC finds its home in the idyllic setting of the Karha National Park in India, where the film focusses on the trials of a 12 year old tigress named Lakshmi. The cameras record the tribulations ... ...as is possible in this wildlife special.
From the burnt yellows, oranges and blacks of an indian sunrise through the full gamit of greens and browns of the lush tropical forest, Houseman's camera work reveals the full palette of a paradise where the tiger's own magnificence is perfectly in key. There is barely a single shot in this documentary that is not exquisitely framed, yet this is not artistic license as each individual visual is part of a ...
Advantages: Great graphics and you're convinced the critters are actually there Disadvantages: Doesn't quite live up to Walking with Dinosaurs as a prequel and relatively short
...of both previous series - Walking with Dinosaurs followed by Walking with Beasts, I saw this in Woolies and didn't even know it had been on TV, quite a nice surprise. So I bought it at the fairly reasonable price of £12.99 and headed home with high expectations. Since then I have also noticed one called Walking with Cave Men, which is next on my list.
Rather than containing two discs, like the other series', this is only one, and I must say I was ... ...this series which I think Walking with Dinosaurs lacked, is a sense of time and it's effect. In these episodes they document the activities of a creature then focus in on it and show a time scale and as this moves along the creature evolves on screen into another species, evolved from the parent species, which is then documented as well. I thought this worked really effectively as in the dinos series it was at times hard to follow what was happening ...
Advantages: Excellent - one of the best! Disadvantages: Each episode is only 30 mins
...in every episode following the big cats in Masa Mara in the heart of Africa.
The three cats are lions, Cheetahs & leopards but you will also see elephants, giraffes, heynas, hippos, crocodiles and baboons in both dvd's. Without forgetting the amazing sunsets caught in nearly every episode!
Please be warned you will see the cats being totally natural so that does mean hunting, killing and eating prey which some may find disturbing!
You will learn ...
