The actual selecting of the chosen few to go from boot camp to the live shows proving to be a farce with two new bands being chosen made out of the reject young men and women. Disadvantages: Morally disturbing, apparently uncertain of its audience at times.

Like the latter, The Killing Of America parades its grotesqueries (sundry assassinations, beatings, slaughters...) in the service of a core political message - a message which, in this instance, is almost as disturbing as the carnage onscreen.
