Spectacular!! i thought i knew a few things about birds...
I have a long and strong interest in birds, with two pet sparrows, other close bird interests, and hundreds of hours studying robins,crows swifts, gulls,peacocks etc . Birds have been the main focus of my artwork. So i expected to enjoy the series but maybe not find a lot of new or surprising information. Wrong! Most of the content so far has been new to me, either species i had never heard ... ...i did know something about. After renting and watching half of the first DVD, i ordered the whole set. This will be one of the few that i will watch, and show to friends, over and over.
I can't speak directly for people who think they have no interest in birds, but that should be no deterrent. If you have any interest in the world around you, watch this video.

It is made by film maker Nina Danino. It is not an easy film to categorise or to review. It opens on a bleak, winter scene with the sound of wind blowing. This distracts from the scene, as it sounds just like someone blowing over a microphone. A female voice describes a religious visitation by the Virgin Mary. The ... ...they don't!
The word Temenos means a sacred site or ritual precinct. And it was the intention of Nina Danino to take us through a journey of such sites, without taking the trouble to tell the audience what site it was or were it was, or even if it was the "real" site of a visitation.
