Ok so I did the first DVD volume of this wonderful series so I suppose I must entertain you with why the second volume is just as good and why it contains another of my favourite episodes from Series one of the new series of Doctor Who.
-----
Doctor Who?
Ok so again for those of you who have been living in the dark, Doctor Who is about a man only known as the Doctor who is a time-lord simply meaning he travels in time. Along the way he picks up an assistant called Rose and away they go facing friends and foes together. This is a science fiction show so expect some good monsters and scary effects at times.

Cast:
Christopher Eccleston - Doctor Who. Billie Piper - Rose Tyler. Noel Clarke - Mickey Smith. Camille Coduri - Jackie Smith. John Barrowman - Captain Jack Harkness.

Episodes on the DVD:
Aliens of London: This episode is part one of two and sees the Doctor and Rose return to earth to find out there has been a crash in London. The crash is no ordinary one as they soon find out that it is due to a spaceship and Downing street is suddenly becoming very
strange. This episode is brilliant and works well as a two part special and features an appearance by established British actress Penelope Wilton as Harriet Jones.
World War Three. Part two of two and the story comes to a dramatic conclusion. With the Slitheen race beginning to grow stronger with the idea that Earth can be sold on the black market in space if there are no humans there. What can the Doctor do to save the day when he is trapped inside Downing street. I do think that these two linked episodes are quite scary so I would not recommend showing to young children.
Dalek. Possibly my favourite episode of the series, Dalek sees the first appearance in the new series of the Doctors most terrifying enemy. The Doctor and Rose travel to a museum where the owner collects very strange artefacts indeed and when he shows them his prize possession expecting the Doctor know how to make it work they all get a very big surprise. Fantastic episode which is a bit scary if you do not like Daleks.

Verdict:
Ok so the second volume DVD of the series is even better than the first and even though I am not a great big fan of linked episodes this series is still going from strength to strength in my eyes. The second volume has a bright blue colour with a picture of the Doctor, Rose and a Dalek on the cover so with the addition of one of the Doctors most famous enemies you know this DVD is going to be worth watching.
The first two episodes on this disc are a bit creepy to be honest and I know my boyfriends nephew got a little scared while watching one of them and walked out of the room but they are extremely funny and the two hours that they are played over goes by so quickly its like you have only watched one episode. I will warn you though that children may find it a bit scary so be careful.
My favourite episode on the disc is Dalek though because all my Mom used to tell me about the old series of Doctor who was that there were these creatures called Daleks who used to speak in a weird voice and say Exterminate. When her brother used to make her watch it she was scared silly and hid behind her sofa so I was so intrigued to see what they were like on the new series. The episode with the Dalek is fantastic and although I do tend to think they look like huge pepper pots I still think they are quite scary.
I think that this DVD is a great follow up to the first volume because hopefully you are addicted after the first three episodes. The first series does all interlink together so it is best to watch them in order so do not be tempted to switch straight to the Dalek episode and instead watch the first two episodes first.
As always with this series the acting is absolutely fantastic and cannot be faulted. The sets are stunning and the special effects team must have had a field day with these three episodes as they look brilliant. Everything about these three episodes on this disc are wonderful and I would recommend them all.
Again the only complaint and reason for not buying this DVD is the lack of special features. It seems silly that there are not even trailers or a quick making of but I guess they were waiting for the entire series to go onto box set before they added any features. So when you buy this DVD you literally will get just the episodes and a few language and subtitle options but that is it so do not expect anything else.
In conclusion though this DVD is fantastic and features Dalek which was one of the most talked about episodes of the series last year. The DVD is a must have in my eyes because this show is one of the funniest and greatest thing that came on British TV last year. Five stars again from me because the pure genius of the episodes makes up for any lack of extras.
In short if you have volume one then go and buy this next instalment now.
Thanks for reading.
