As we say goodbye to one Doctor, we welcome in a fresh face,a new Doctor with different characteristics, ready to take us on different adventures. Bigger adventures. Adventures like those we have never experienced...

*****
Doctor Who started way back in 1963, with William Hartnell playing the Doctor! And his performance must have been so strong as we as a whole are still obsessed with this gripping programme, 44 years later!
Since then, we have met 10 Doctors, and adored every one of them! This Doctor (10th) is played by the lovely David Tennant, living up-to-date adventures in his big blue box, more commonly known as a TARDIS. But the Doctor does not travel alone! In this DVD, we travel through the galaxy and encounter three fantastic adventures with the Doctor and his companion, Rose (Billie Piper).

*****
THE CHRISTMAS INVASION
We go back to Christmas Eve - Earth with the new Doctor. Even companion Rose is unsure of who he is. Drained from Regenerating, the Doctor lies sleeping in Jackie's flat, but while he rests, trouble arises. The Sycorax (located in their ship above London) are controlling the people in the city, and all over the earth too. But as the Doctor is not there to save the day, the population of the world is in the hands of Rose and Jackie. Sounds like a recipe for disaster, but will the cake rise?

NEW EARTH
Rose and Doctor are reunited, and find themselves sniffing the sweet smell of the Applegrass on New Earth. But this is not just a flyby visit! No, the Doctor has been told to visit and old friend in the hospital. This building, run by Cat-Nuns, has a secret store room where they are breeding a new species - surely this can't be right?! With the interfierence from an old enemy of Rose's, Lady Cassandra, things begin to get scarily dangerous!

*****
These three episodes were fantastically written by Russell T. Davids (executive producer).

*****
MY OPINIONS!
The cover of this DVD is the first with David on it, so it is quite unique compared to others. Because we are not shown any pictures of creatures on the front, it makes it more intrieging!
The Christmas Invasion was fantastic to watch on Christmas Day! It was quite emotion when Rose was getting all confused and unsure of the Doctor. But Tennant brought in a lot of humour! "Big Throbbing Button!" and "I Dont Know!" are just two of my favourite quotes!
New Earth is one of my favourite episodes! It is just so unusual! I mean, it's not every day a hospital is run by cats is it? And seeing the Face Of Boe was fantastic!

*****
DAVID TENNANT
Not including Parting Of The Ways, this was David's first proper episode, and what a performance it was! Many of us were sad to see Eccleston leave and all believed David could not fill his shoes. Well has has done no such thing, and this is a good thing! The way David plays the Doctor is brilliant, he has developed the character in his own way, and it has worked extremely well! David is a superb actor!

BILLIE PIPER
We see a massive difference in Rose in these two episodes, especially New Earth. this just proves Billie has talent! I think she has coped with saying goodbye to Chris, and taking David under her wing very well! The way she changed her accent to suit her character in New Earth was just spectacular too! Well done Piper!

*****
The soundtracks for these episodes are truly outstanding, created by Murray Gold and performed by BBC Wales Orchestra!

*****
Despite some emotional scenes, this DVD puts me in a good mood in general, and its fantastic to watch any time!

David Tennant and Billie Piper had such great chemistry between them, I was disappointed when she left. I loved the Christmas Invasion and especially when The Doctor says "I don't know", that was just hilarious. Lisa x
