Think you can sit in the comfort of your own home and watch the world go by? Then think again...!
***** Doctor Who started way back in 1963, with William Hartnell playing the Doctor! And his performance must have been so strong as we as a whole are still obsessed with this gripping programme, 44 years later! Since then, we have met 10 Doctors, and adored every one of them! This Doctor (9th) is played by the lovely Chris Eccleston, living up-to-date adventures in his big blue box, more commonly known as a TARDIS. But the Doctor does not travel alone! In this DVD, we travel through the galaxy and encounter three fantastic adventures with the Doctor and his companion, Rose (Billie Piper).
***** BOOM TOWN Rose and Doctor are joined by Captain Jack (John Barrowman) on a trip to Cardiff. They think it is just a holiday, but their journey soon unfolds, when they come across an old 'friend'! Margarate Blaine plans to build a Nuclear
Power Station right in the heart of Cardiff, and nobody can see Blaine for who she really is - a Slitheen! Will she rip the world apart, or can the Doctor save the day?
BAD WOLF (part one of two) The Doctor, Rose and Captain Jack land on the Gamestation (formally known as Satellite 5) in separate areas. What we know as our average television gameshows are known as an Uncontrollable Death Trap for the Human race. But can it be stopped? And what or who is controlling it?
PARTING OF THE WAYS (part two of two) Still, those dreaded words 'Bad Wolf' are continuing to pop up everywhere they go, and now the Doctor and Rose are in real danger! Captain Jack tries all he can to help the Doctor save the Earth, but Rose takes matters into her own hands when she looks into the Heart of the TARDIS - something that should never be done! What will happen to the power of the Timelords?
***** These three episodes were fantastically written by Russell T. Davids (executive producer).
***** MY OPINIONS! This is a fantastic DVD for the end of the Series, and a fantastic send-off for Chris! The humungous Dalek Emperor on the front of the DVD cover instantly lets you know trouble is brewing! For me, Boom Town was not scary, but rather amusing! As Margarate, Blon made me laugh, just the whole character about her was classic! I think the fact that the Doctor was supposed to be on a date with her was just brilliant! And Billie's line, "She's an egg!" cracked me up every time! BadWolf/PartingOfTheWays was spectacular. I loved the way we as viewers could relate to the gameshows ie Big Brother and The Weakest Link. The Anne Droid was certainly fantastic! And John Barrowman brought a new aspect of comedy into the show! Actress Jo Joyner gave a fantastic performance as Lynda! But the episodes started to get serious when Rose was turned into dust. I hated that. Luckily, she was brought back and I sighed with relief! Thinking it was over, I was wrong! When the Doctor sent her back home, I was shocked! I could not believe it! But thankfully, brave little Rose didn't give up - she was very determined! That's what's fantastic about her relationship with the Doctor - she'll do anything for him! But when she looked into the TARDIS, I really didn't think she was going to be ok! That Golden Glow coming off her was so warming and spectacular, she looked so magical and impossible. I was breathtaken. When the Doctor regenerated though, I was so upset. I couldn't believe it (and how funny does Tennant look in the leather jacket!) Poor Rose!
***** CHRIS ECCLESTON Chris brought humour into Doctor Who, as well as his fantastic acting skills! It is easy to tell he is enjoying what he is doing, and you really do believe he is the Doctor, and not an actor! I was sad to see him go, and I wish he could have stayed! He was super! A fantastic send-off for Eccleston!
BILLIE PIPER Nobody could play Rose Tyler better than Billie, the casting director has made a perfect choice there! Billie shows great acting skills, she makes you cry when she cries, makes you laugh when she laughs! Her talents are really one-of-a-kind! Her performance has got stronger as the series has progressed, and I think she tackled the very emotionally challenging final scene when she looked into the Heart of the TARDIS very well! Well done Billie!
***** The soundtracks for these episodes are truly outstanding, created by Murray Gold and performed by BBC Wales Orchestra!
***** A fantastic DVD to end the series!

Advantages: A very gripping and emotional end to a brilliantly imagined series.... Disadvantages: Did we REALLY need another episode with the Slitheen?
