**BRIEF PLOTS**
*1 - THE LONG GAME --- (7th May 2005)
When the TARDIS appears on a space station called Satellite 5, which broadcast news and current events to the entire human empire… but as per usual with any place the Doctor arrives at, not all is what it seems…with most of the real events happening on floor 500...
Whilst the Doctor and Rose begin to investigate as to what is happening on board Satellite 5 they soon discover who really is in charge of the ship and how much control they really have over the humans living on Earth when they travel to floor 500, where the walls are made of gold… apparently. When the pair find their lives in danger due to their new companion Bruno, whom they rescued from Van Stattons museum, it is an unusual hero who saves the day…

Bruno
Langley as Adam Mitchell Anna Maxwell-Martin as Suki Simon Pegg as the Editor
*2 - FATHERS DAY --- (14th May 2005)
When the Doctor asks Rose where she wants to go she tells him November the 7th 1987... The day her father was killed in a hit and run… So off they go… for Rose to be at her fathers side in his last moments… only Rose has a change of heart and decides otherwise, causing the Earths fabric of time to be ripped apart allowing monster like creature called Reapers to devour everything on the planet… It is up to the Doctor to reverse the terrible events, but things go tragically wrong for him as the flying beast take control…
*Some characters in this episode:
Shaun Dingwall as Pete Tyler Camille Coduri as Jackie Tyler Julia Joyce as a young Rose Casey Dyer as a young Mickey Smith
* - THE EMPTY CHILD --- (21st May 2005) {part 1 of 2}
This time the TARDIS lands in London during the Blitz during World war 2, after chasing a cylinder type object through time and space …
When they start investigating they somehow become separated with Rose having to be rescued from certain death by a rather charming Time Agent called Captain Jack Harkness, (played by John Barrowman), who is not quite the person Rose first thinks.
Meanwhile, the Doctor finds himself in a bit of a predicament as he bumps into a group of homeless children, led by a young girl called Nancy, who survive by feasting during air raids whilst everyone else is in there bunkers… But, to the Doctors distress, there is one child who is unlike the rest, causing the spread of a rather frightening type of disease which is threatening to take over the world…turning mankind into gas mask wearing zombies…
It is up to the Doctor, with the help of Rose, Captain Jack and a very friendly but overworked Doctor Constantine to find out the truth about what is happening to the human race…?
*Some characters in this episode:
John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness, Florence Hoath as Nancy Richard Wilson as Doctor Constantine Noah Johnson as the voice of the Empty child Albert Valentine as the Child Robert Hands as Algy
* 4 - THE DOCTOR DANCES --- ( 28TH May 2005) { part 2 of 2 }
With the Doctor and Rose, together with Captain Jack, avoiding death by the skin of their teeth, (or more a telling off from the Doctor) it is not long before the truth behind the deadly spread is uncovered… and the full horror comes to light, giving the Doctor minutes to save the world from certain destruction…(whilst avoiding the German bombs landing all around him), will he be in time or is the human race destined to become gas masked zombies…?
**IN CONCLUSION**
Four brilliant episodes which will keep you entertained for nearly 3 hours… (approximately 45 minutes per episode)…
The story line in all episodes are brilliant, with 'Fathers Day' possibly being the most emotional of them all, giving an insight into Roses life as a baby and how her parents behaved prior to his death… The Long Game being the most humorous of the bunch, albeit just the right amount of humour without spoiling the storyline at all… with Eccleston being his brilliantly dry humoured self, with a calmness to impress all…
As for the special effects and the CGIs, well, they are fantastic and not too over the top. The Reapers in 'Fathers day' are especially well created without going too far and spoiling the episode, the creators of these beasts really did a good job on the scariness without making them comical in anyway, these creatures are like nothing you've seen before…
The 'Empty Child' and 'The Doctor Dances' can be quite frightening for younger viewers, especially when the 'change' happens and gas masks appear to be forcing there way from the mouth, giving a scare or two every time…
Would I recommend this…?
Yes I certainly would… It is well worth adding to your collection and the little green coloured DVD case will fit in nicely with the dark red/ burgundy and blue covers of the previous two volumes…(not that colour matters…).
It is pure entertainment for all the family although, like the previous DVDs, it has been given a PG certificate..
In all another entertaining and well worth watching DVD…
A copy can be purchased from www.amazon.co.uk for under £10.00
*DVD information…
Again, there are no extras on this DVD, all you get is the choice of 'Playing all', 'Episode selection', 'Scene selection' and 'subtitles on or off', making your choice to the well known theme tune whistling out from the television speakers…
