Right off to the third volume in this fantastic series we go and well well it does have some good episodes on here. This volume is the best for the creepiest episode and the saddest one and is essential for continuing your Doctor Who journey in the new series. If you want to hear about the first two volumes then check my previous reviews on them both.

Ok for those of you who still do not get it what is Doctor Who about?
Doctor Who is a time lord and goes visiting different times and worlds with his assistant Rose. (Notice how this section is getting smaller).

Cast:
Christopher Eccleston - Doctor Who. Billie Piper - Rose Tyler. Camille Coduri - Jackie Tyler. Noel Clarke - Mickey Smith. John Barrowman - Captain Jack.

Episode on the DVD:
The Long Game: This episode is great and features a very memorable performance from the great Simon Pegg (Shaun of the dead). The Doctor, Rose and their new companion Adam travel into the year 200,000 where they visit a strange place called Satellite Five. The
workers there carry on with their business and wait for the day that they get promoted to level 500. Satellite five broadcasts the news to the human race but the Doctor realises something is wrong with the technology and exactly what is happening up on level 500 seen as anybody who goes up there never comes back.
Fathers Day: The Doctor transports Rose into the past as they travel to the time when Roses' father dies as Rose has never met him. She watches it once and decides she wants the Doctor to show her again. They come back and can see themselves watching. At the last minute Rose decides to save her father and as you can imagine this causes all sorts of strang things to happen including the appearance of reapers which threaten to destroy everything.
The Empty Child: The Doctor and Rose are transported into London during the Blitz as they chase an object which the Doctor believes to be an emergency craft. While they are there they are transfixed by the apparent cries of a young boy asking for his mommy. The cries follow them around and the Doctor meets Nancy who knows a bit more than she is letting on about how the boy can control objects and continually ask for his mommy. Also Rose meets Captain Jack who provides some of the comedy in this episode. The episode also features a performance from Richard Wilson (one foot in the grave) and is coupled with the one below.
The Doctor Dances: The concluding part of the episode above sees the Doctor, Rose and Captain Jack battling against a sort of Zombie army and they are still being plagued by the child asking for his mommy. Will they find the answer in room 802 and more importantly will the Doctor ever dance? I do not want to spoil the episode for you so I will say no more.

Verdict
I think this volume is possibly the best for episodes that you seriously cannot take your eyes off and you remember them for ages afterwards. I seriously think that none of these episodes are weak and they all ooze originality and humour but also enough drama to keep you addicted. The appearances by some well established actors such as Simon Pegg and Richard Wilson just add to how brilliant this series is continuing to be. The cover is nice and green and has a picture of the fantastic creatures the reapers on the front of course with the Doctor and Rose.
The finest coupled episodes are on this DVD (see above in episodes) and the doctor dance has to feature one of the most fantastic scenes ever as the story concludes, (you will know what I mean when you watch it). Captain Jack is introduced and remains a central character throughout the rest of the series and is absolutely hilarious. Barrowman is fantastic and with his comedic performances as Jack you can tell why they wanted him to stay for the next episodes. The Empty Child / Doctor Dance combo are the best episodes of the series and I know I keep saying this but they really are. They are a bit scary and creepy but also so mysterious that you have to watch to find out what happens.
I also should mention that the episodes on this DVD show you some amazing special effects and the reapers to me are the most amazing creatures they have come up with in the series. I mean the way they look and you know what DVD quality is like so they look fantastic. I would say that this DVD is my favourite for episodes because although I love every episode this DVD has some of the strongest ones in the series.
As with all of these volumes there are still no special features which is a shame so you will have to buy the box set for those but still the episodes themselves are enough to entertain anybody and make the DVD worthwhile to buy.
In conclusion I love this third volume and I think that when I watch these episodes and how fantastic they are it just sets it firm in your mind that this new Doctor Who series is absolutely amazing and here to stay. A must if you are a fan and of course if you have already bought the first two volumes. If you have yet to see this series and like fun science fiction programmes then just trust me and go and buy it now but don't buy this volume as you do really need to watch the episodes in order.
Thanks for reading.
