This was the first series of Doctor Who that I got into, as I didn't see any of the others, and now because of these, I now have a very high knowledge of the series. All the way through watching these DVDs, I was hooked - so hooked, in fact, that I watched 11 out of the 13 episodes in one night. When I got to the bonus features disk, I was fascinated to find out just how the episodes were made - they were all fantastically done, I never actually realised just how much work was put into it. The series follows the adventures of the Doctor, a travelling time lord, who has found a new companion, Rose Tyler, who also has a story of her own. With stories from past, present and future, Doctor Who Series 1 will have you hooked right to the amazing climax. I bought it from play.com, a web site that always has fantastic prices for anything you want to buy (DVDs, computer games, books, gadgets, etc.) It cost me £44.99 which, when you look at an ordinary DVD price is very good, and the RRP of this box set was £59.99. In conclusion, I found it very hard to find any disadvantages for this product, because it was so good. I just can't wait for the second series to be released in November 2006.

Sorry for the low rating. It's a good start but if you wanted higher ratings then you need to say more. Perhaps you could tell us more without giving too much away. If you read other DVD reviews you'll see what is needed for higher ratings. If you edit this let me know via my guestbook and I'll happily re-read it.

Sorry for the poor rating, but there is so much more you could put on this. I am a fan myself more so of the earlier years. If you can add a bit more as episodes, something about the new beginning, maybe about the doctors origins with the time war and Gallifrey, more on the special features, I shall happily rerate. If you want any advice then just leave me a message in my guest book. ian.
