"Remembrance of the Daleks" was the finalDoctor Whostory to feature the titular mutant ... more
cyborgs, and is a particularly notable adventure for the way it ties the plot into the very first story, "An Unearthly Child" made 25 years before. It is 1963, and the Seventh Doctor, Sylvester McCoy arrives in London with new companion Ace (Sophie Aldred), where two Dalek factions are engaged in a deadly search for the Hand of Omega. Ace quickly proves herself a dab-hand with high explosives, and while there are references to the history of the show, including some nice in-jokes, the drama is played much straighter than in McCoy's first season as the time traveller. This isDoctor Whowith a decent budget; the period setting is surprisingly lavish and there are some fairly intense action sequences. The Daleks remain as menacing as ever, the plotting has an intriguing air of mystery, and McCoy injects some steel into his characterisation. Aldred serves an ace as a heroine with attitude, (very much post-Sarah Connor fromThe Terminator), and if this really does prove to be the Dalek's swansong, at least they go out with a bang.On the DVD: Sylvester McCoy and Sophie Aldred provide a warm and friendly commentary track, which also offers optional subtitles. The audio possibilities continue with an isolated music track, though the sound is Pro-Logic stereo, not the stated Dolby Digital. There are trailers for two episodes, a collection of out-takes, 13 deleted or extended scenes, and the raw footage from two different camera angles for two major scenes. Optional on-screen production notes complete a package which, with animated menus and very good 4:3 picture quality puts many Hollywood releases to shame.--Gary S. Dalkin

This is the basic story behind the DoctorWho adventure called Remembrance of the Daleks; the last story to feature the Daleks in the series. Remembrance of the Daleks is set just a few days after the events of episode 1 of "An Unearthly Child," the very first DoctorWho adventure. Those of you who know about DoctorWho will remember that the Doctor left Earth unexpectedly; he obviously meant to sort out his little problem before, but events (and Time) conspired against him!
The story was originally released as the start ...

(Pamel Salem, who also appears in Baker DVD release The Robots of Death) Scientific Adviser to the Army. She is monitoring strange transmissions in the area, but before she can explain too much a radio call summons her and her driver, Sergeant Mike Smith, to the secondary source...a junkyard in Totters Lane. Again it would have been nice if the sign on the gates had been spelt right or if the yard had looked like the original, but it's the thought that counts.
Here the Doctor meets the army whose Group Captain Gilmore (Simon Williams of Upstairs, Downstairs fame) informs him they have a hostile target pinned down. Cue the first glimpse of a dalek, admittedly it kind of wobbled out of the darkness, but the hairs on my arms still went up. The Dalek doesn't take kindly to being cornered by the army and picks them off with some impressive use ...
Advantages: SEE DIFFERENT DALEK FACTIONS BATTLEING IT OUT Disadvantages: STORY IS TERRIBLE AND DALEK ARE VERY POOR QUALITY

As a young lad I remember watching the colour doctorwho movie on TV with PETER CUSHING as the doctor and thinking to my self the daleks are brilliant but at the same time a little scary ,Of course this never stopped me loving them I really liked the different colours of the daleks in the movie and I had always wanted a dalek of my own,At the same time as this tho I wondered are the daleks real and is there really jelly like creacture's inside them or did people make them like us? You never imagined there was a real person inside one.
At this time in my life I actually did think the daleks were real and one day I was hoping i might see them rolling down the street trying to take over the planet I did'nt care I did'nt care id of let them ,And I am sure it ...
