DVD Description
Adapted from the British television series, this feature film stars Peter Cushing as the title character, an inventor who has created a time machine known as TARDIS that is disguised as a police call box. When he accidentally turns the machine on, the good Doctor, his two granddaughters, Barbara (Jennie Linden) and Susan (Roberta Tovey), and Barbara's boyfriend, Ian (Roy Castle), are transported to the planet Skaro where they find a race of humans that are being tormented by evil robots known as Daleks. A sequel to DOCTOR WHO AND THE DALEKS, DALEKS INVASION EARTH 2150 A.D. once again finds Cushing taking over the role of Dr. Who from his television counterpart, William Hartnell. Here, the Doctor and a number of his companions take TARDIS to the year 2150 only to discover that the earth has been ravaged and taken over by the diabolical Daleks. Realising that the Daleks are trying to mine the globe's nuclear core, Dr. Who and company resolve to foil their plan and save the future of humanity.

...The DalekInvasion of Earth is part of the classic series featuring the original TARDIS crew of the First Doctor played by William Hartnell and his grandaughter Susan and her two school teachers Barbara Wright and Ian Chesterton, and of course the Daleks.
The two school teachers finally find themselves back in London but soon discover that all is not well.
This story benefits greatly from the four regulars who are by this stage really comfortable with each other. The story is split in two almost immediately with Barbara and Susan going missing. The Doctor and Ian are brought face to face with a Dalek.
The central idea is quite basic, an invasion of Earth, and is repeated during the run of the series on a number of occasions. The supporting characters are well rounded and are there to eventually get the four time travellers...

Advantages: A great dalek story Disadvantages: drags a bit
...DoctorWho, Genesis Of The Daleks is one of the better dalek stories.
The story starts when the doctor is transported to the planet of Skaro by the timelords who wish the doctor to change the future by destroying the daleks. After finding his companions, the doctor and harry are captured by the Kaleds, a race who are at war with the thals. Sarah is captured by the thals after being discovered by mutants known as the mutos. All three try to escape but the doctor has other priorities. He must recover the time ring, their only way of escaping Skaro. But he must defeat Davros, evil creator of the daleks and prevent the daleks from ever being created.
The story is an original one but it does drag abit. But one of the good things about this story that it allows more dalek action and it reveals how the daleks were created.
The special...
