Advantages: Good performances, interesting story Disadvantages: Nothing special about it
Please note: I am reviewing the 1984 film about a drink-driving case and not Licence (with a c) To Kill, the James Bond one!
Lynne Peterson is a talented teenager; having done brilliantly at school, she is about to go away to college. Then one day her life is tragically ended following a car accident caused by a drunk driver. Her parents and sister are devastated; her mother goes to bed and refuses to get up and her father copes by trying to find out as much about the case as possible. But after many stops and starts, the court case seems doomed to failure and it seems that the driver will get off scot-free. Can lawyer Martin Sawyer ensure that justice is done?
James Farentino plays Mr Peterson and, on the whole, does a quality job. Losing a child is one of the most difficult things a parent can face, and Farentino is certainly ...
Advantages: Excellently directed Disadvantages: Slow at times, very brutal
When former assassin Black Mamba (Uma Thurman) is viciously attacked at her wedding, her fiancé is killed and she is put into a coma resulting in her losing her baby. The coma continues for a further 4 years but luckily her memory is still intact when she wakes up.
Immediately subsequent to waking up, The Bride goes out to avenge her fiancé?s and unborn child?s death by brutally murdering everyone who was involved in the incident. The four Deadly Vipers are those responsible for almost killing her and at the head of the operation is her former lover and boss, Bill. She then vows that she will kill Bill?
Kill Bill is a film that you?ll either love or you?ll hate simply because this movie is so extreme and outrageous. I better just say for the record that I?m by no means a fan of Quentin Tarantino?s work, I find most of his films to ...
Advantages: Good performances, solid writing. Disadvantages: The direction can be uninspired.
Frank is a hit man for a Polish-American gang. But his drinking gets in the way of his work. After he sleeps through a planned hit, his boss sends him to San Francisco to straighten out. Once there he gets a job as a mortician's assistant and begrudgingly starts going to Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. There he meets Tom, who offers to be his sponsor and through his work, he meets Laurel, an equally dysfunctional but strangely supportive woman that Frank might just be able to open up to?
Director John Dahl's background is mainly in television, with a few forays into big screen movies (including the character-driven "Rounders" and the truly dreadful stalk-and-slash "Road Kill"). But he appears to back on form with this low key comedy. Visually it is nothing special. It feels like pretty much any other low-budget independent production ...
A stranger emerges from the desert to discover that his gang has been killed by the inhabitants of a Western settlement. Searching for his lost gold, the stranger clashes with the villainous Zorro.

DVD Description
From the pen of screenwriter Franco Arcalli (ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA, LAST TANGO IN PARIS) comes one of the most infamous DJANGO movies, DJANGO, KILL! Coveted for many years by Spaghetti-Western connoisseurs, and championed by long-time fan Alex Cox (REPO MAN, SID AND NANCY). Tomas Milian stars as the title character, arising from a desert grave after being double-crossed, only to find all his partners brutally slaughtered. He seeks revenge in a town called 'The Unhappy Place', encountering torture, depravity, greed and sexual debauchery everywhere he turns. Director Giulio Questi leaves nothing to the imagination in this tale of corruption, and be warned, DJANGO KILL is not for the faint hearted!
