Divorce His, Divorce Hers DVD

Advantages: Good leading actor & actress
Disadvantages: Not exciting

...It really is a shame that I have to give this film such a poor review, seeing as it looked like such a good movie. But alas, it was a big disappointment. The film stars George Clooney as top divorce lawyer Miles Massey who come across the charming Marilyn Rexroth, played by Catherine Zeta-Jones during her divorce precedings. Marilyn, with the help of her lawyer (Cedric the Entertainer) is divorcing her rich husband on the grounds of infidelity, caught on camera by her private detective. Unfortunately, due to Massey's talent in the courtroom, Marilyn loses her case and becomes penniless. The film then continues to show what a money-grabbing, serial divorcee she is and how Miles tries his upmost to gain her affections. ...In this the second part of Krzysztof Kieslowski's trilogy based on France's national motto: ‘Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity’. White is the story of Karol Karol (Zbigniew Zamachowski), a hairdresser and Polish immigrant living in Paris with his wife, Dominique (Julie Delpy). As the film opens, Karol and Dominique are in divorce court; she wants the divorce, he doesn't. The divorce proceedings take place in a white marble courtyard. Dominique's grounds for divorce are that the marriage has never been consummated. She wins and, after the hearing, Dominique drives away in a white car. Almost immediately after the divorce, Karol visits his one time salon locked up by his now ex-wife, he breaks in to take one last look around and Dominique shows up and confronts him they make love for the first time and then she sets a fire in the salon... So Melanie has to go back to Alabama, where she hasn't been in 6 years, to divorce her high school sweetheart Jake Perry (Josh Lucas) who is refusing to sign the divorce papers. She over powers his life by drawing all the money out of the bank ,as the Account is still in joint names, spending it all on furniture and new things for 'them' and embarassing him in front of his friends.
