Disadvantages: I want more episodes!!

...I really love 'The Life Collection' from David Attenborough. The complete series of 'Life in the Freezer' was the third dvd of the collection that I bought. The series itself has six episodes which are all on one disc. They were originally transmitted in 1993. The six episodes are: Episode 1: The Bountiful Sea - All about the Southern Antarctic Ocean and the species in it Episode 2: The Ice Retreats - About when Spring comes and the wildlife coming back to land to breed. Episode 3: The Race To Breed - How seals and penguins have to breed quickly before winter comes round again. Episode 4: The Door Closes - The disappearance of food as winter returns and how the wildlife have to migrate before this happens. Advantages: eclectic mix of articles and features
Disadvantages: you need to agree with the politics

The article on pentanque is something anyone with a decent sized lawn might be interested to read about, but trying to link jewellery to the countryside by saying it?s ?perfect for glamorous country nights? is a bit thin, and detracts from an otherwise fair enough feature. One column that?s been in Country Life since 1993 are the humorous Tottering-By-Gently cartoons which make me smile as they remind me of a Miss Marple view of rural England whereby all ladies still wear headscarves and live off gin and tonics. Advantages: Fascinating case, Fuhrman is a really interesting guy
Disadvantages: Plodding and unconvicing film

...without a cinema run. The second reason is that the film is very linear, it's a murder film without any real violence or horror, because that's not what the film is about. So the film in my view falls between being entertainment and a documentary programme, because it's neither. I'd really rather watched this having been made in a documentary style, but because the murder of the girl was real, it is difficult to gain any "enjoyment" from it being a horror film. The DVD has very few extras, just the standard sub-titles and a couple of trailers. I've mentioned in the past in my reviews that I always like extras as I believe that they add some extra depth to the film, and so it's disappointing that there aren't any on this DVD.
