I love this film, i cant believe i havent reviewed it yet. Its been sitting in my dvd collection for some time now but only sprung to my memory as i was showing a Canadian friend of mine this dvd, clearly telling him that these guys were on another level compared to Jackass but i had to show him to prove it, 10 minutes of selected items and he was convinced. he has since gone back to Canada and will not doubt be telling his pals about what these welsh people (and one englishman) get up to in their spare time!
-BACKGROUND-
Dirty Sanchez are 3 welsh guys from Newport, Matthew Pritchard, Lee Dainton and Mike Locke, better known as Pancho and one englishman by the name of Dan Joyce. They all met in the skateboard circle and i believe Pritchard and Dainton have been friends for years working on a magazine. Dainton actually owns his own company and designs t shirts, i think the company is called Kill City. Anyway, these guys were first shown on MTV to rival Johnny Knoxvilles Jackass but most of the show couldnt be broadcast early becuase of the language and insane stunts they do. It became a cult classic with Pritchard and Pancho making appearances on channel 4's Balls of Steel. 2 series later and a film has come out of it at the height of their popularity.
-PLOT-
For the people who have never seen or heard of dirty sanchez, the best way i can describe it is a livlier, more insane version of Jackass. The plot of this film is that the 4 guys take part in a stunt and all die, upon reaching hell, they meet the devil who advises them that they can get their lives back if they all reinact the 7 deadly sins, Sloth, Gluttony, Pride, Envy, Lust, Wrath and Greed. This sees them travel to Russia, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Thailand and other countries to perform stunts to regain their lives.
-CHARACTERS-
Prichard is known as Mr 50/50 and believes the person who made skin is a f**king genius! He is probably the most hardcore when it comes to self harm stunts and just taking pain. His tattoos of Carnage and If found face down please call an ambulance just tells you the limits of this man. He is an outrageous dresser and all round funny guy
Dainton is probably the leader of teh group, in terms of volume at least. He brings up most of the ideas and is the one to cause most pain to Prichard. Those two have a running battle throughout the whole film and this has spread into another series just starring those two, Sanchez get high.
Pancho is the one that gets bullied the most due to his size. His sleeping habits lead him to be picked on more than anyone. The one liners he comes out with after taking a hit are legendary, always up to matching pritchard in the pain stakes but just falls short, no pun intended!
Dan Joyce the odd one out in more ways than one. The englishman who probably does the least amount of painful stunts but stands alone when it comes to vial, sick sh*t. Previous series have seen him eat a pizza with pubic hair on, be sick on the pizza then eat it again repeating the feat, the guy is nuts.
-STUNTS-
Some of the stunts you may find either offensive or hilarious are as follows (not really a spolier as they dont relate to any story in anyway)
Liposuction drinking games Dirty Sanchez vs Tokyo Shock Boys Beer Enema Mis-spelt tattoos Paintball world record attempt
-TECHNICAL STUFF-
Director Jim Hickey run time 96 minutes 18 rating
-EXTRAS-
All my friends are dead music video 90 minutes worth of unseen stunts Panchos lullaby Trailer making the music video Audio commentary Making of the movie Making of the title sequence Around the world in 4 and a half minutes Red Bull Rock Flight featurette
-OVERALL-
Hilarity from start to finish. Its not everyones cup of teas granted but the things these guys go through for our and their own entertainment is top drawer. Sick, painful, shocking, down right wrong, stupid, disasterous, manic are just a few words when you think of these guys and this film. Its a boys best buy and a girls worst nightmare! Enjoy
