From a very young age I have always loved dinosaurs. I am now 16 and I still got excited when I heard 'Dinosaur' was coming out on video. I bought it as soon as I could and I don't regret it one bit. 'Dinosaur' is an adventure set back 65 million years in time. It is the story of a young Igaunadon named Aladar who, from birth, is adopted by a family of lemurs. Their island is destroyed by a meteor and so they are forced to join a herd of dinosaurs on a voyage across the harsh desert to reach the safety of the nesting grounds. All the way they are being driven on by the merciless leader Kron and they are follwed by a pair of menacing Carnotaurs. This adventure is full of hope, despair and courage and will remain in one of the Disney's classics. Now onto the effects. The effects make the film. The dinosaurs in the film look real although they talk! Such great detail has been paid to the texture of the skin and the eyes that you could swear you were looking at real talking dinosaurs. The landscapes are real and the dinosaurs interact really well with their surroundings. The film is made interesting as there are many different types of dinosaur ranging from Brontosaurus to Velociraptors. Even if you don't enjoy the film I can promise you the effects will not let you down. I really loved the music for this film. The music plays a big part in this film and really illustrates the power and majesty of the dinosaurs. The music helps you realise feelings such as fear, happiness and despair. I can't really think of anything negative about this film except that there are quite a few scenes in the dark so you have to have your TV settings just right to see whats going on, also the storyline is not very original but with the special effects you will be able to forgive it. This is a film for all the family young or old but I think you have got to have at least some form of interest in these incredible animals to really enjoy and appreciate this film.
