Beautifully crafted, this supernatural thriller stands up to repeated viewings very well. Settings, dialogue, cast, and even soundtrack come together to deliver a tale of ordinary lives disrupted by extraordinary events. Tom's new found psychometric abilities remind us that this eerie extra-sensory ability relies on our very skin to connect us to past, and quite often disturbingly traumatic events... and there's no escaping ...
THE DIG
Apparently this book also has an old PC game along the same lines of the book.
An asteroid comes in close vicinity to the Earth and a team is sent to check out and explore whilst they have a window of opportunity. However once on the asteroid things start to go awry. The team of three find advanced alien technology which when messed with transports them to an alien planet called Cocytus which is millions of light years away.
They must now solve multi dimensional puzzles to find a way back to the asteroid and then home. They are also in physical danger as not all the conundrums are benign.
The crew will make some startling discoveries along the way and the most startling of all is that the asteroid is actually a 'Honey pot', specifically designed to entice and then trap intelligent life forms for study and maybe ...
Advantages: A good adventure game... Disadvantages: ... but not a great one, inconsistent puzzles.
, I thoroughly enjoyed playing The Dig and would recommend it to anyone who likes adventure games and in particular other LucasArts games.

Windows 95/98/ME,3000,XP (I ran it on XP without much trouble, occasional glitches but saving the game then re-loading it sorted them out, only a minor annoyance.)

Sound card: 16-bit sound card (this is one of the few older games where no problem with the music or even speech was encountered).
