DIE HARD 2
FILM ONLY REVIEW
This is the second in the Die Hard quadrilogy, following on the story of John McLean, a police officer from LA.
He has become a bit of a superstar after his work in the first film where he put his own life on the line to sort out a so called "hostage" situation in an office block, and ended up out witting the robbers.
This film is - like the first - set at Christmas, John McLean is meeting his wife Holly at the Washington DC airport, who is on a plane on the way to see him.
This poor chap always seem to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. In this sequel John McClane (Bruce Willis) finds himself in the middle of a terrorist plot to free a Middle East terrorist leader at the airport ( Ido hope he has a clean vest on!)
The film is full of a fantastic number of special effects and is action packed throughout the whole film. McClane is of course the all American hero who is attacked, beat up, exhausted and covered in blood, but still turns out to be the good guy who makes everything right in the end - well him and his trusty vest!
The endurance of this one guy is of course far reached, but then this is not a film to be taken too seriously. Amongst all the mayhem and killing there are some very funny lines that remind you that this is just a film and it is made for entertainment.
The film has been produced and directed extremely well and the stunts and special effects are very realistic and believable. The big effect at the end of the film is superb.
Throughout the film there are a number of sub plots, the majority of which are going on in the aircraft circling above the airfield waiting to land. Of course John McClane’s wife Holly (Bonnie Bedelia) is on one of these aircraft, which just gives a personal touch to the whole story.
There are also a few unexpected twists to the plot that keep the story line alive and interesting.
I have lost count of how many times I have seen this film and I am sure I will continue to watch it again every time it is on TV.
A great action packed film that is very entertaining to watch.
If you watched the first Die Hard and loved it, then you'll love this one even more, its an amazing film!! again its got the undertones of humour!
And I swear if Bruce Willis had taken off his spacesuit in Armagedden and tackled the meteorite in his vest, all would have ben OK !!
