Advantages: Funny, Good Characters, Great Cast, Decent Storyline. Disadvantages: None For Me!
...I have the DVD of Dick so I thought I would mention some of the extra features. Unfortunately for a fan like me there is only one deleted scene. It’s funny and I think it would play well in the movie, but can understand why they cut it, I wont really go into detail what the scene is about, but it has a connection to a dream Arlene has about Nixon earlier on in the movie. I was pretty disappointed there was only one deleted scene to be found on the ... ...lack of deleted scenes.
Another extra feature on the movie is a “Behind the scene featurette” this is a short but sweet making of the film, with interviews with Kirsten and Michelle. This wasn’t long enough in my opinion but it’s still a nice little feature behind the scenes of the movie.
The director and writers commentary is quite decent if you want to know some fun trivia about the movie, just make sure you’ve seen the movie once beforehand ...

Advantages: Tongue in cheek comedy Disadvantages: over too soon!
'Dick' is the kind of film you discover in your local video rental store, lying hidden away on the top shelf becuase the clerk mistakenly thought it was a dirty movie, covered in dust becuase it slipped past the viewing public on cinematic release unnoticed. THIS IS WRONG!
Starring the always appealing Kirsten Dunst and Michelle WIlliams, 'Dick' puts a comedic spin on the Watergate scandal. What if Deepthroat, the anonymous source that brought down ... ...importance of the C.R.E.E.P. list? Also starring Will Ferrell as one half of the bumbling duo of Woodward and Bernstein (eat your heart out, 'All the President's Men!') and an early appearance by Ryan Renolds (swoon!) this is a fantastically funny trip back to a time where America trusted it's President (thanks a lot, Nixon!), where a McDonalds meant a special treat instead of the nations staple diet and where the roller-disco was the coolest place ...

Advantages: Comic and watchable Disadvantages: Utterly lightweight
..."Dick Tracy" is fundamentally undemanding stuff. An attempt to convert comic strip not into film but into comic strip film, it was never likely to be intellectually challenging fare. This is not to criticise the film: its stars perform their roles excellently, there are many richly comic moments and the script is adequate. For all that, the film remains unmemorable for me in a way in which, for example, "Batman" did not. Perhaps if the producers had taken their original source more seriously they might have succeeded in a more important creation, rather than this enjoyable but bland film....

Advantages: Nice effects Disadvantages: Poor story
...This film stars Warren Beatty as Dick Tracy and is originally set in a very colourful set. As you might expect, Beatty conducts an investigation to defeat some bad guys, and he comes off the winner. Its all very predictable stuff, and is not intellectually challenging. When all is said and done, this is an average film, and it could have been done better. However, if you are looking for some light, easy entertainment, this might be perfect for you. Perhaps if the film had shown a little more originality, this could have been a good production. Unfortunately, I think the director missed out on a good opportunity to make a truly interesting film....

Advantages: Great theme music, great peformances, great costume and settings Disadvantages: Ordinary fight scenes, simplified plot.
...Dick Tracy directed by and starring Warren Beatty is definately worth a watch.
The Costumes and settings were outstanding mainly because they gave the feel of the forties Dick Tracy comic strip.
Al Pacino as scar Face was very amusing though don't expect him to be a true psychotic because the film is basically fun based for all ages.
Warren Beatty and Madonna were excellent in their roles. Beatty really made the character alive through great acting and direction.
The only problem with the film was that the fight scenes were ordinary and the plot may not keep some peoples interest.
Danny Elfman theme was also a great bonus. The music really gave a nineteen forties feel.
Great fun though....
