***Why I watched Derren Brown: Inside your mind***
I have only recently come across the amazing Derren Brown since I have watched the recent tv shows 'The Events' and 'The Specials'.
After watching these shows I have been looking for other programmes he has introduced and found 'Inside your mind' and I have also read his latest book 'On Deception'.
***Derren Brown***
Derren Brown was born in England and his talent has been been portrayed in a number of different fields including an magician, illusionist, mentalist, skeptic and a somewhat unappreciated painter.
Following a law based education Brown was inspired to start work as a conjurer, leading into hypnosis and also to mind reading performances.
These array of talents have led to the unusual variety of opinions people have when it comes to Brown and what he actually does.
Brown is something of a rarity as he is unique and he can predict, suggest and control human behavior. However Brown has openly admitted that he is not a mind reader, in fact his talent it due to persuasion and human psychology.
Brown has had success with a number of tv shows, stage shows and publications. Through these channels he Brown shares how he uses his talents to successfully create the amazing things we see.
Recently Brown has attracted a legion of fans following the channel show 'The Events' in particular the episode where Brown successfully predicted the winning lottery numbers.
***Cost***
I think this DVD has reduced to around £4 - £6 in most shops and internet sites that offer free delivery have also offered this price.
***Honest opinion***
Brown is a successfully talented performer.
Prior to watching his show 'The Events', I had little about Brown and was convinced he was a fake and a fraud. I now openly admit I was wrong.
Brown is a talented and performer who has surprised me and an entertained me each and everytime I have watched something new. I can actually say on several occasions my jaw has dropped and I have been left speechless at his talent.
I personally enjoy his eccentric style and wicked sense of humour subtly used in each of his episodes.
But what I really love is the fact that he openly admits his faults and does not hide the fact that on some occasions he gets in wrong, which happened in an episode of 'The Events' – how to beat the casino.
This DVD is not his best but I think it is a good introduction to his talents as it was first released in 2003 then re-released in 2007.
I am still trying to get tickets to see his performance in theatre of 'The Enigma' but it has been fully booked at my nearby theatres.
***Summary***
Real, fantastic, talented and you definitely cannot describe Brown as predicatble!

Advantages: Entertaining, unique, intriguing. Disadvantages: I wish they could put more in.
Derren Brown is quite simply one of the greatest and most talented showmen alive today. This DVD incorporates some of the highlights from his earlier shows, mostly the mind control specials and TV series.
Derren strikes me as an immediately likable guy, with a sense of humour and personality that carefully balances mock cockyness with humbleness. This is more evident if you listen to the commentary or read his book. As he himself states at the beginning, ... ...out the DVD extras if you want to learn a little bit more about how Derren does what he does. The Commentary between him and his producer is also fun and humourous.
All in all an entertaining and baffling insight into Derren Brown's unique taste on magic. Definitely recommended. ...

Advantages: Mind Blowing Stuff Disadvantages: Perhaps A Little Short
...I am actually quite shocked that this will be the first review on this DVD, this also makes me weary as this will be the sole review (at least for now) people are going to read, lots of pressure!! Oh well, hopefully I do it justice.
