After being recommended this film, I finally sat down to watch it the other day, I have to say the film was brilliant and I was very impressed!

Starring two very well known actors, Wesley Snipes and Sylvesture Stallone, this film is a pure classic. From this film, you can see that they work brilliantly together. This film may not appeal to many, it is mainly an action film and was first released by Warner Brothers in 1993.The film is about an hour and 50 minutes long.

Demolition Man even had its own song! Sung by 'STING' who is a well known artist nowadays, the track was named after the film, it was a pure hit and boosted the films ratings, the track wasn't that great though and was only played at the end of the movie in the credits.

ACTORS

As I mentioned before Wesley Snipes and Sylvesture Stallone starred together in this flik. Well known Sandra Bullock also starred a main role in the plot, there were also many other actors with not such important parts, there was Dennis Leary, Benjamin Bratt and Nigel Hawthorn.

Sandra Bullock ~ I think this film is what made Sandras name. In Demolition Man, Sandra plays a young woman who is high up in the police squad. She makes most of the decisions in the film to do with what will happen next. She is really funny at times.

Wesley Snipes ~ In this film he plays the bad guy, the hard core criminal whose out to destroy and kill. He is great and full of loads of cheeky comments. I think this is one of Snipes' better films, I enjoyed seeing him as the bad guy.

Sylvesture Stallone ~ The caring but demolishing man! The man that puts things and people straight but leaves a huge mess of destruction behind him! Mind you, in the film at the present day of 2032, the criminal seems to do most of the destruction! Stallone plays a great character in the film and he acts it well.

THE PLOT

The film is set in the future which is pretty interesting, set in the year 2032 everything is nearly perfect in the world, hardly any violence, no wars, no bad or foul language, no poverty, no pollution. Things have changed over the years. ~ Your not even allowed to kiss or have sex due to health hazards! Well thats actually a lie, you are allowed to have sex and make love but without physical contact, I won't give away the twist, you've got to see it to believe it! ~ It's hilarious!

What used to be Los Angeles back in 1996, is now in 2032 called San Angeles. Instead of prisons, people are frozen as a punishment and after a mass murderer psycic is accidently thawed out, San Angeles is at risk. Simon Pheonix is his name, he can hack into computer systems, destroy everything in sight with his new found martial art skills and can kill meaningully. With the death toll rising rapidly thanks to Simon Pheonix, the police cannot do anything to stop this dangerous man, even with all their up-to-date hi-tech equipment!

Thats when bad assed copper, John Spartan is thawed out as a desperate measure, he can beat anything and anyone physically. The copper back in 96 had a family but destroyed everything in sight when doing his job, which was why he was punished by being frozen, apart from this he was an outstanding cop! ~ Hence the title!

Both John Spartan and Simon Pheonix are thawed back into the world at the same time to be re-united from where they left off from 1996 many years ago, this is when the story starts to get very interesting and exciting!

John Spartan, being the bad-assed cop gets into a lot of trouble straight after being thawed out, he swears at least every couple of minutes and by doing this he finds himself getting fines!!! Many other things have changed too, for instance he hasn't a clue why the people don't use toilet paper!? ~ They use 3 shells!? ~ Don't ask!!! John Spartan is the caring copper though that thinks justice is deserved, his out to do his job and catch Simon Pheonix.

The story goes on to see whether John sparton and the police squad can catch and punish Simon Pheonix, along with the main plot comes a lot of funny moments, stupid comments, romantic scenes and rude gestures as well as all the fullfilling action!!!

OVERALL

Demolition Man is filled with moments that make you laugh in hysterics, make you feel yourself tense up inside and cringe at the most ridiculous futuristic ways ever! The script you will find is rather fast at times and also very funny. The film overall due to being quite old, won't be that action packed compared to other action films nowadays but is still a great laugh. The futuaristic part isn't complicated at all even though it may sound like it is! I thought this film was fantastic and I give it top marks, you can rent this out on video in most video rantal shops, but the film is also on normal and sky television quite ragularly. Thanks for reading, ~M~.
