Déjà Vu DVD
Denzel Washington is one of my favourite actors because he is brilliant in every movie I have seen with him in, but when I heard that he was going to be in the movie Déjà Vu I was a bit sceptic because I understood that it was Sci-fi and action combine and sci-fi is not one of my best genre. However I decided to get to DVD and I must say its nothing as I expect.
Director: Tony Scott
Writers: Bill Marsilii & Terry Rosso
Release Date: ... ...Thriller ~SINOPSIS~
Déjà Vu is a well produce movie base on time and space. Denzel plays the role of Agent Doug Carlin who was investigating the explosion of a bomb on a passenger ferry out of the Mississippi. As always I think Denzel acting is superb and his role as Doug Carlin who was sent to investigate the scene was well acted by him once more. By examining the debris, Doug confirms that the explosion was no accident. He then examines the corpse ...

Advantages: uncomplicated, plenty to look at, doesn't tax the brain Disadvantages: a lame ending
Had always intended to see this at the cinema, but never got around to it. Set in a part of America that isn't a usual fim location, i.e its not New York, LA or Vegas, but New Orleans. Denzel Washington stars. Tony Scott and Jerry Bruckheimer direct and produce. Of course Jerry Bruckheimer is the maker of CSI and Cold Case etc. This did show through, as its based on the aftermath of a terorist incident, i.e a bomb blowing up a passenger ferry which ... ...killing over 500 people. The filmakers cut to the chase pretty quickly, revealing new technology which can see into the past, look at the past as its happening, but only at an exact time, which is 4 days and 6 hours previous to the time you're in..... Confused? Don't be, its actually very straightforward and doesn't get in the way at all. There are some PHD characters who attempt to explain black holes, but its not crucial. The plot centres around ...

Advantages: Good story, good effects and lots of action Disadvantages: Va Kilmer poorly cast
Fantastic film! The story is to an extent very original and highlights the ethical issues of time travel. The drama centres around an explosion, killing hundreds of people, and how the FBI has access to technology that offers the chance to see the past and find the person responsible. Denzel plays the cop with the experience of analysing crime scenes, and his quick analysis is needed as the technology only allows one look at the past so every fine ... ...closer and closer to the case he realises that he has the power to change what has happended. Denzel is his usual self (I find capable of playing only one character in all his films) and a slightly chunky Val Kilmer plays quite a boring agent and doesn't seem to have much to do in the film but take up space. The special effects are good, but not amazing. On a plus the film doesn't go into too much science (which I prefer) so we are left with some ...

Advantages: Great gripping action film Disadvantages: Maybe seen as far fetched by some
Deja Vu is a gripping action film starring Denzel Washington who plays an agent. He is investigating an explosion that went off on a ferry killing over 500 people. Due to the agents impressive skills he is invited to join a new program that uses satellite technology to look backwards in time for 4-1/2 days to try to capture the terrorist who blew up the ferry.
Meanwhile a young lady turns up on shore , her body is burnt and made to look as tho she ... ...found too early so they use the new technology to study her death.
As they do this the agents discover that the system is not jus satelite imagery but in fact a time machine.
The film goes from crime to action to sci fi with a touch of romance along the lines but it is captivating none the less...
The actors are convincing and although the story line is far fetched it is well thought out. ...

Advantages: Good story, good casting Disadvantages: Bit far fetched, silly ending.
I finally got round to watching this after time thinking about it. I had heard mixed reviews about this film so I thought id give it a go.
Denzil Washington (Doug Carling) is an AFT agent who has the lovely task of solving an act of terroism. A ferry transporting sailors with their families is blown up by a bomb which had been planted by a terrorist.
Doug has no leads on how to \solve this case, when he is informed that another body had been founs ... ...of this person, Claire Kuchever (played by Paula Patton) and it is confirmed that her death has nothing to do with the previous explosion. With this he decides to investigate this thinking that he may find some clues into the bombing.
He is then approached by Agent Pryzwarra (Val Kilmar) who informs him that he has technology to go back into the past to see what happened and solve the case. There are other twists in this stroy which keeps you thinking. ...

DVD Description
When a New Orleans ferry carrying 500 passengers is destroyed by a bomb, Doug Carling; a newly-recruited FBI agent is drafted in to track down the perpetrator. When a body is found floating in the river, it is determined that the victim was murdered before the ferry blast occurred. Unfortunately, the victim was the impossibly beautiful Claire Kuchever (Paula Patton), whose death has begun to torment Carlin. Adding a new level to the investigation is a top-secret FBI invention, which allows a select group to view the past on screen as if it had been videotaped days earlier. The more Carlin sees of Kuchever, the more connected to her he becomes, until he decides to risk his life by travelling back in time and altering the course of history.
