Def Comedy Jam - All Stars Vol. 1 (DVD)

...I cannot comment in comparison to the rest of the series, as I have not seen the others, however I found this DVD which is a collection of three episodes of pure black comedy to be one of the best I'd ever seen. Its amazing how all of the acts are still as funny today, despite them all being performed 12 years ago, as I am only 15 it shows how you did not have to be there at the time to get the jokes. The O.J. Simpson trial is one of the main themes here, so it is evident that the process had recently been completed. There are various angles which th comedians go into concerning the matter, all obviously ending hilariously. Something which attracted me to buying this DVD out of the collection was the lin-up of many familiar faces who apparently had began their journey to success from this comedy series. Advantages: Wrestle as well-know rappers
Disadvantages: Nothing to do once complete

...simple for the game, far less complex than WWE SmackDown! games, however, if you are used to wrestling games then you will have only played that sereis and therefore it does take some time to get used to. I felt it took me a while to complete when a first got it. Once I did finish the story mode, I gave it to my sister and she managed to complete it over a weekend. This shows you that it is simple to pick up and play but I don't know how she beat D-Mob because he is like bosses from retro games in that he is stronger, and recovers faster than you or any other fighter. You cannot complain about the roster because eventhough it doesn't compare to the newer games, however now it's not just Def Jam members. Advantages: Great character design. Interesting Stories
Disadvantages: A bit short.

...as twenty 3 minute shorts which were pretty much stand alone with a few common plot threads running through. Rather than squeeze all the cast members into 3 minutes they dedicate episodes to one or a few characters, for example Mace Windu and Yoda both have their own episodes. However to me 3 minutes is just too short and you're left wanting more. On the DVD these episodes are edited into a single episode which works pretty well and is much more satisfying. You can watch the individual episodes too if you like. The series itself compliments the prequels very well and in a lot of ways works a lot better than those films. This feels a lot more like the Star Wars of old - fun, action and adventure. This may just be that we find the kind of story the Prequels tell more acceptable in animated form.
