I am heavily interested in computers, software and information technology. Ok I admit it, I'm gadget mad! I try to write honest opinions and sometimes they might be over technical, but thats the nature of computers.

I'd never heard of this movie until I came across the DVD on the shelf at Woolworths, which as I could get it for a tenner, I decided to give it a try.
The film is a sort of sci-fi/horror movie which while suffering from a pretty poor plot, does what it's supposed to. Entertain. The action sequences coupled with some good special effects, allow the film to rise above the storyline, and most of the cast play it firmly in cheek.
So what's it about?
The movie opens with a torpedo boat being piloted across a rain-swept ocean to an as yet unknown destination. Cut to a scene showing a huge ocean liner, which is a floating casino full of rich people and you know where the torpedo boat and it's cargo are bound. Someone on the cruise liner sabotages the computer system and the ship grinds to a halt.
Back to the torpedo boat which reaches the now stricken liner. The torpedo boats crew and passengers board the liner, only to discover that it's empty of all life.
By the time you reach this part of the film you have a very good idea what's coming next, but the film is entertaining none the less. It's a definite action film which never asks you to engage your brain but sometimes thats all you want. While I like thought provoking drama, sometimes I just want to while away a couple of hours, and this film does achieve that.
There are some ludicrous moments, such as Famke Janssen spending half the movie wearing a white t-shirt that doesn't get dirty (My mother would have loved that secret when I was a kid), and a chase through the now flooded liners corridors on jet skis, but if you can suspend your disbelief for an hour and a half then this movie is worth watching.
**Special Features** Very poor with only a trailer and a featurette. More information on the area in which the film is set would have been interesting to watch, ina feature, but they missed that opportunity. With this in mind the video is far better value.
