Well, it certainly doesn't seem as though they did. The plot reminds me of some kids cartoon action movie. It really does, mostly due to the totally stupid and unbelievable escapes from the 'monster', and the "Oh look, a big monster's trying to kill us all, run away!" sort of plot.
Well, lets start with the plot shall we.......I can't seem to think of anything to write about it apart from poor, stupid, unrealistic and very childish. Doesn't rate to much, does it?? All it's about is a lovely ship that is carrying lots of posh, rich people somewhere. Then, a big scary monster comes along and kills almost everyone, for no apparent reason. So, this leaves the survivors to try and stay alive. Three quarters of the movie is people getting killed and the survivors shooting at the monster with what seems to be a 'never-ending' amount of guns and bullets.
Also, I'll try not to tell you too much, but one part of the movie really was just too stupid. When a couple of survivors are trying to escape, they use some sort of water speeder which just happened to be there, and they're racing along the ship, which is flooded by the way. So, as usual, the monster is just about to catch them and kill them. But look!! There's a hole in the ship ,which seems to fit the speeder perfectly!! How lucky!! So, the man on this speeder, who apppears to be know how to drive one of these things perfectly, speeds right through the hole, in a fashion that reminded me of that Power Rangers movie that came out a few years back.
So, any good points?? The acting wasn't bad, but not brilliant either. The special effects were suprisingly quite good, and the monster didn't look too bad, but perhaps a little unrealistic.
So, should you use your hard-earned money to rent this movie out?? Well, surely you know the answer??? Well, I'll tell you anyway, the answer is NO. A very large NO.
There are many, MANY more better action movies you can see, even that Power Rangers movie. :)

I didn't find it that funny, though.
Also, it was just so...unrealistic. It just reminded me of a corny kids movie.
Perhaps I am a bit fussy, though! :)

A little harsh... in much the same way as many action films are limited on plot as was this but the pacing was good, I'd say this was an above average humorous thriller. Maybe you were expecting too much... SB.
