Hello to you all, I hope your well...
Firstly, thanx for the read, just make sure you keep reading. lol.
Now, first off, I'd like to talk about...
~~~Some Personal Stuff!!!~~~
I've always been a fan of Dead or Alive ever since I can remember, (which was about five or six years ago actually) and I bought this collection earlier this year. (When I finally got round to it!)
Before I bought the 'Evolution - The Hits' album, actually before I'd evan heard of it, I had only ever heard of 'You Spin Me Round' ('Like A Record') (the 1985 version) and the reason I found out about this collection (like the Hits CD) was in 2003 when Pete Burns decided to re-release the song with a new leas of life. Giving the song more of a modern twist and making it more of a dance or club (depending on where you go) mix.
Well, I loved the song and really couldn't decide which version I thought was better. So, I liked them both the same,...
The song was really released to mark the celebration of, both its singular success around the world and to boost the success of their (Dead or Alives) 'Hits Collection'. Both the CD and DVD. Which is what I will be talking about now,... (The DVD, I mean...)
~~~And Now Some Other Info I'd Like To Say About The Coolness Of This Music DVD~~~
Well now, where to get started,....
~~~Do I like The Music Vids ???~~~
Do I ??? Well yes. Of course I do. They are all the original music videos from the eighties and on-words. They all where so controversial back then,... Why is beyond me...
The vids are fun, entertaining and colorful with loads of Pete's pout, even before all the surgery, and theirs loads of innuendo to boot. They are very "get up and dance" and are really artistic and really are a good, entertaining load of vids from a long time ago. I love the video for the 2003 version of 'You Spin'. It is definitely one of my favorites. Its so much better and more modern, with perhaps a bigger budget than the first. Pete wears loads of colorful make-up and loads of deferent wigs and clothes and the background is white with loads of colorful patterns and other stuff going through it,... Sorry if I'm not the best at describing it,..
~~~My Take On The Live Stuff~~~
Well its pretty good. They sound, and look good live.
The material used is pretty exciting and their is always the over enthusiastic crowd to keep the adrenaline going.
~~~But What Of The "Extra" Music Vid, 'Rebel Rebel' ???~~~
HMMMM,... Well, its pretty weird to start with,... Its very eclectic and colorful but it takes a bit of getting used to... Their is allot going on in the video and its almost like a really bad trip. Its also got a very loose Japanese vibe going on too. If you haven't heard the song before then you'll definitely think its all really strange, but I like it,..
~~~The Discography~~~
Well yeah!!! Thats what it is,... All the albums that Dead or Alive have released over the years all on this DVD, and even a track listing on them to boot.
~~~The Weblink~~~
Well, sorry guys but I've never actually used it,... So I cant really say any think about it.... Really sorry. Perhaps if you bought the DVD you could check it out, I know I'm going to have to.
~~~The "Interactive Menus",... Whats Up With That!!!~~~
Well I like the Interactive Menus. They basically are little snips from the 2003 version of 'You Spin' that are put together and every page opens with a moving part of the video,.. Theirs even the 'You Spin' song playing in the background. Cool or what,...
~~~Other Stuff I Should Problyz Mention~~~
One thing that I almost forgot to say was that their is also a "Jukebox" on it as well. Which basically means that you can chose which order to play the videos in, or just choose the vids that you like the most and play them.
- This music DVD was released on the 07/07/2003
- Studio - SONY MUSIC VIDEO; ARVATO SERVICES LTD
- Region 0 (All Regions)
~~~The Booklet~~~
You also get a booklet inside the DVD case which has some background info about the videos and the history of them and the songs for them. It also has a few pictures of Pete Burns in it as well but I'm sure like me, you aren't bothered about that.
~~~My Overall Thoughts On This Music DVD~~~
~~~Overall GOOD Points~~~
Well, what more can I say ??? I really like the DVD, its packed full of really good videos and some good live stuff to boot!!! I like the songs and the vids.
~~~Overall BAD Points~~~
Well, if you want me to be picky.... For anyone who has read my 'Top Ten Albums' review, you might of noticed that their are a few tracks missing in the list of videos. For instance the tracks 'Hit & Run Lover', 'Sex Drive' and 'Isn't It A Pity' are not on this music DVD for some reason, and yet they feature on the CD. Plus,... After watching Celebrity Big Brother this year (2006) I really don't like Pete Burns that much, he really annoys me.
~~~Finally, Like, Wear Can You Buy This DVD ???~~~
Well I bought mine from Play.com for £10.99 with FREE P&P!!!
Also, to tell you the truth, I really couldn't find it in any other shop. It was only after I bought it at Play.com I seen it on Amazon, oh well, never mind.
~~~The Final Goodbye~~~
Well, I think thats me all done and dusted.
Until next time anywayz.
So thanx for reading and goodbye for now...
