Dawson's Creek is an intricate teen drama. The interesting thing is that it can also appeal to adults so easily. The boxset includes all the seasons so you can see the characters grow (from a 15 year old aspiring director Dawson) and change right to the very end (to a grown up successful film maker Dawson).
At the very centre of the show lies the belief that friendships can last a lifetime and heartbreak makes you stronger. Pacey, Joey, Jack, Jen, Dawson and Andie all face upheaval, tragedy, love and change but through it all their lives remain entwined.
Aside from the storyline the show has a great soundtrack throughout. Some of the music from the original version has been replaced due to copyright issues, this doesn't detract from the DVDs too much as it is still enjoyable to watch. If you like something mellow with a great tune and amazing lyrics you'll probably love the music as much as I did.
The show is set in Capeside, New York and Boston. It was filmed mainly in Raleigh, Durham, and Wilmington, North Carolina. These locations provided a stunning back drop to the storylines. Complete with beautiful autumnal trees, romantic creeks with little boats and all the charm of a small costal town in New England. It makes me want to go there!
The only criticisms I have about this boxed set is that it special features should have been added to really add depth to the series and tell the viewers something that they didn't already know about the characters or how things may have turned out for them all.
At around £70 it's an absolute bargain and well worth the money for hours of blissful Dawson's Creek viewing!
