This really isn't my normal type of film, although i do like horrors, but i'm really glad i saw this. I watched this with my boyfriend and am extremely glad i did as it scared me so much and even gave me nightmares! I loved the range of characters and thought each one was well worked out and brought something to the film, they weren't in it just as "the token balck guy" for example. I thought the ending was good as it wasn't your typical unrealistic happy ending. I thought the film worked really well as it actually made it seem as though having zombies take over could actually be possible. I thought the gore and make up was done really well and looked realistic and i thought it was good as there were a couple of funny moments inbetween all the horror.

I see you've posted this as a DVD review, but you've not mentioned the DVD. Are there any extras? If so, what are they and are they any good? If you add to this, or if you change it to be posted as a "Film Only" review, which can be done by accessing "edit review" in the top right of the review and changing the drop down menu under the "Which format are you reviewing?" question at the bottom, please let me know and I'll re-rate.

Advantages: Superb performances, visually stunning, an interesting take on the original tale. Disadvantages: Not the same social satire element as with the original.
