Having bought and loved the first DVD, I found it difficult in the working week to fit the full workout in, so I was looking forward to the three 30 minute workouts. And it is exactly what it says. The workouts are again led by Davina's personal trainers, Jackie and Mark.
The DVD is divided into 3 workouts with some dietary advice after and for Big Brother fans an insight into what goes on behind the scenes on the eviction show of BB.
The first workout is called 'The Pump'. Jackie leads us through this sequence. It combines the first 2 parts of the first DVD incorporating lots of lunges while using your hand weights(although you don't have to as Jackie shows you the exercises without them). There are also 4 one minute intervals of fat burning exercises as in the first DVD scattered amongst each sequence. The only thing I would say is that it would have been good to have more floor exercises. These included stomach exercises, back stretches and leg exercises. All this is followed by the cool down. You do feel like you have worked through this section and have to say after the first attempt, was struggling to walk the next day!!
The second workout is called 'Cardiobox'. Mark takes us through a series of boxing moves. This seems to keep you moving more through the half hour as you are constantly bouncing back and forth as you punch. I have to say , the first attempt does get a bit confusing as you are trying to concentrate on what your feet are doing as well as your arms. After a couple of goes you do get into it and it is good fun. After a lousy day at work you can imagine all the people that have 'irritated' you as you punch so it works as a great stress reliever!! Again there are the 1 minute interval fat burners but because you are moving all the way through, you feel like you are not getting the chance to get your breath back, but you soon forget about it!! The floor exercises again don't seem quite enough, but all in all a decent workout.
Don't underestimate these workouts. Just because they are only half an hour each(which goes very quickly) you do still work hard and you will sweat!!
The final part is called 'Core Stability' Jackie takes us through a series of slow and controlled exercises, likened to Pilates. After the first 2 workouts you don't feel as if you have done anything and you could get bored, as you don't get the same adrenaline rush but stick with it. I stupidly thought this would be an easy option, but discovered muscles I didn't know I had.
All in all the DVD is fun, Davina pulls you through by being Davina and Jackie and Mark are true professionals. And if you take a look at the flat stomach on Davina on the cover, it will push you to achieve the same.
The rest of the DVD shows some dietary advice but I found the recipes a bit hard to read, and the BB footage speaks for itself.
My advice is give it a go, it is one of the best and not so serious workouts on the market at the moment and it does work.... so Good Luck!
