Advantages: entertaining, funny, good length, reflects of childhood, strong story and characters

...at the window, from outside in the pouring rain. He invites them back in, with the hope that he can use them for his music. An agreement is made, and the three chipmunks are allowed to stay with Dave, on the understanding that there are a few ground rules, and they help Dave create his music, providing their sweet little voices for the vocals. Unfortunately for Dave, the guys find it slightly 'difficult' to stick to these rules, and despite providing Dave with some snazzy vocals, they create havoc in his general life, causing him to lose his job, and be humiliated in front of Ian after a sudden burst of stage fright, not to mention ruining a Dinner with 'ex-mate' Claire. After a short while, Alvin, Simon and Theodore realise just how much stress they have caused Dave to suffer, and understand that it is down to them to do something about it... Read review

...for a position in an environment that encourages nothing but the survival of the fittest. Into this environment comes a monolith. Sun rises over the monolith and a new age dawns. Soon the tribe of apes learn how to use bones as tools. With this single achievement, the apes become better equipped to kill animals for food, to fend off predators and to ensure their dominance over other tribes. At the end of this scene we are treated to one of the most sublime pieces of editing in movie history. One ape, joyous in this intellectual victory, throws a bone into the air in celebration. It is at this moment that this bone becomes a ship flying gracefully through space. This has a profound effect. It shows the rapid development since the early days of the dawn of time and it also shows how spaceships are but another tool in the development... Read review
