Das Boot (Original Extended Version) (DVD)

As I settled to watch this epic length film from Wolfgang Peterson, I had no idea of the claustrophobia and agitation I would feel as the film wore on. At well over three hours long, this director's cut version was mys first experience of the film, as I hadn't seen the much shorter cinematic release that had preceded it some 4 years earlier. In a way, I wish I'd seen the shorter version first, but what I''m sure of is that this lengthier version certainly drummed it home as to the conditions seen in the film.
